AUTOCROSS TOP 10 TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

Jared goes over the top 10 tips that beginners need to know about auotcross. Autocross is probably the cheapest form of racing you can get into. There are classes for completely stock cars to fully modified cars. If you don't know what class your car is in don't worry someone will help you out.
The people that autocross are some of the nicest people. They are more then happy to help you out and ensure you have a great time. Going to autocross will definitely improve your driving skills. The more you do it the better you will become.

What autocross events do you attend in PA?

Cole's Mountain Biking Jared runs the most regions and events. He runs Nepa. Susquehanna and cpr region. I run just Susquehanna.

I’m actually closer to the Susquehanna region, I’m just trying to find local events for when my car is built

Cole's Mountain Biking that’s the region we all race in. I think the first race is later in July. If your car runs just bring it out. No need to build it for autocross to have fun.

Can you explain the "chest strap?" I read about it on a forum somewhere. It sounds fairly simple, but beginners might want to know.

I would recommend just driving an ordinary car that's in good mechanical condition, until you're good enough to go faster. "Go slow to get fast!" And when you walk the course, make SURE the idiots around you aren't joking or talking!~ YOU need to learn the course, and you may only get one chance to walk the course.
