@@locustltz400 it was super easy. I watched a few KZbin videos from different sources and completed it in about an hour. The kit came with instructions and the change I needed to do with FORscan to fix the Bluetooth calling issue.

Great video, you inspired me to do the same conversion on my 17 F150. I do have a question about the ACM connection. My new harness has what looks like a tee or pass thru plugs that match the ACM. I didn't see in your video how you connected the ACM or did you just plug all the OEM plugs back in?

You mentioned enabling climate with forscan... your climate controls below are the manual type not the digital version. If you enabled climate on the screen did it actually do anything??

So I bought a F-150 XLT and a backup camera on the with a 4”. When I back up with the 4”, no camera. When I add the 8”, will the backup camera start to be in use?

Did you leave the display cable for 4 inch unplug and the yellow plug. Reason mine doesn’t recognize the camera just blue screen Any idea would help

You are my go to for Forscan info. I just ordered the same unit for my 2017 F150 XL and as usual I didn't think about something. My truck didn't have bluetooth so where would the microphone be? Is it in the unit or do I need to order a wired mic?

Why not go with a 12 inch after market? You’re videos are why I downloaded forscan and did all the changes on my 2018 STX 2.7. So you know if there is a way to do “all unlock when put in park”?

Did you have any problem with your navigation? I bought my kit from the same company, as you did, and my navigation and compass,within sync 3 display, are 180 degrees off. Map flows bottom to top, instead of top to bottom, of display while driving and compass shows south when it should be north, west when it should be east, etc. Everything is reversed from what it should be. It makes navigation useless. The company even sent me a second apim and it does the same thing. They dont seem to have a fix for it.

Did the switch the same way you did. Everything seems to be working fine.Except for my back up camera. Any idea why my back camera may have stopped working? (Haven’t tried calls yet).

That's great. Test the Bluetooth phone by calling someone. If you cannot hear them then you need to change a setting with Forscan

Hey auto dad, would you know if that sync1 to sync 3 conversion harness will fit a ford ranger 2016 xls? on youtube i can only find 4" to 8" 2019 ranger video. the video seems almost the same that i have except the plugs on 4" screen is different. Now i cant seem to find conversion harness for it.

So you didn't have to enable sync 3 in forscan? It just worked pretty much plug and play? I bought the 4dtech kit and am waiting for it to arrive. They say you have to use their conversion cables and their obd2 programmer. I'm hesitant to do it their way though because I also installed an oem subwoofer that I enabled in forscan and don't want the audio module reset to remove my subwoofer changes.

So you may have to do the subwoofer change again. That is all in the APIM. Mine was all plug and play except one change in Forscan for hearing the phone call over the speakers. The programming you did for the sub is in the APIM and that is what you are replacing. My subwoofer inputs are tapped into my rear speaker inputs via a low level adapter so nothing changed.

I don’t know if there’s that much of a difference but I I got the 4 dtech kit for my 2015 Taurus and I had to use that obd2 to program the system to accept the upgrade.

In theory, could this be done in reverse if I got all the components from a wrecker and found someone to wire it all up? I dislike huge screens in my trucks. I'd rather not have one at all but the 4 inch is okay.

On the wiring harness there is a yellow RCA jack for an optional after market backup camera

No because it comes with the preprogrammed APIM module. You may need to make a change using Forscan if you cannot hear over bluetooth

The other end of the line can hear me, but but I cant hear them unless I put my bbn phone on privacy. Can you give me tips to fix this as mine did not come with instruction.

Your start stop is in the body control module not the apim. Maybe you didn't get the plug connection all the way in
