For those are unaware about the GLX variant the comes with a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). CVT is a type of automatic transmission that does not have fixed gears, for instance 5-speed automatic, CVTs are single-speed. In CVT vehicles, you will not feel the gear changing. CVTs are fuel-efficient.

900k? I'll go for City type of comments. I own a Suzuki Celerio 2014 and until now it is up and running, abused it, and treat it as rental car but I never experienced having engine problems with it after the punishments. Floody morning and my friend had a plane to catch, the flood was about half a meter deep, tumurik nalang lahat ng kotse like Vios, Honda City, except sa Diesel pero my Celerio was up and running talagang matibay yung Suzuki. On the other hand my friend's Honda City(Lady Driven) same kami 4 years na saakin maraming gas gas sakanya fresh as fuck pero palaging nasisira yung engine lol tapos matakaw sa gas. Yes, I don't have a Swift but proven and tested Suzuki matibay talaga and fuel efficient... although Honda has a name on it (which is sikat ka kasi fboi''s car) pero when it comes to traffic and convenient Suzuki Swift talaga ako...and most small car owner's already have bigger cars which we don't prefer pag traffic, we only use it for long drive or may family na kasama pero kapag solo we prefer smaller cars, easy to maneuver and convenient. 900k price tag I prefer Suzuki Swift - Opinion ko lang.

Talaga naman matibay ang Suzuki. Kahit nga mga surplus multicab eh mga engine nyan lumang luma na galing Japan. Mga 90's model pa. Pero pagdating sa pinas ginagawa pang workhorse. Pamasada and all. Sa province ginagawang kargahan. 3 cylinder lang. Iyak makina paakyat dahil sa bigat pero hindi sumusuko.

@@aleajewellearaneta4225 ok naman sia , about sa ground clearance sorry ill take it back sumasayad sia especially sa potholes at medyo mahina acceleration ya until you reach 3000rpm kasya naman kami 6 siksikan haha.. pero malapit lang naman pupuntahan namin mga 12km at maganda dito sa suzuki swift is pag 3 lang kay or 4 naka sakay kahit 120km yung layo ok na ok sia at matipid sa gas until now wala akong major issues na encounter.

You definitely want to test drive the AMT yourself before buying. A single clutch system is cheaper to build than a dubble clutch, but the price for this is incredibly jerky upshifts during acceleration. Personally I would rather have a normal MT with a clutch pedal, even if the AMT came at no additional cost.

Test drive is a must. If you're someone who loves driving a manual but needs to share it with A/T only driver, then you might love it. But if you are already enjoying A/T features now, you might not like it. Cheers!

Left side steer FJ Cruisers reportedly went out of production in 2014, around the time the model was introduced in Philippines. This indicate, that the “new” units still being sold by Toyota were actually produced more than 4 years ago, and have been sitting in a warehouse since. It’s a fun car, but its not a great deal to buy a brand new car, which is actually 4 years old already. Time will have taken its toll, even it was not driven.

I had a 88 Chevy Sprint made by suzuki. I use to get 57 miles to the gallon. An 8 gallon tank went over 450 miles. Only got gas maybe once every 2 weeks. I miss that car! A teen girl with no license who did't see the red light or cars not moving plowed into the car sitting behind me, which then plowed into me. Buckled the roof.

I want to believe the sporty reputation of the Swift....but that one time I drove one ( a 2011 loaner ) in 2013, the steering and handling couldn't feel more indirect & elastic. Steering felt as if the steering mechanism was made of elastic parts - just a very unnatural kind of feeling. And although the ground clearance is fairly low, the seat position felt high, even on its lowest setting. I dunno, it might have been due to that particular Swift I drove for a few days while awaiting my own car repairs....or I don't understand why many people attribute a sporty reputation to the Swift.

@Emman Bisco Not saying this is cheap, but apart from some untested chinese brands there are no B-segment hatchbacks, which are cheaper than this. The Swift start at 755k, which is very similar to Fiesta and Rio and 100+ k less than Jazz and Yaris. I dont know why, people think, this should be cheaper than everything else in the segment? Maybe its the pricing of the privious Swift, which have given these expectations. But when the Swift was sourced from Japan, it also started at 750k. This was with a 1,4 liter engine but before the new excise tax, so if anything, the Swift is still cheaper now, than it was 5 years ago.

It's a matter of preference really. With that kind of money some would prefer a hatchback, a sedan, an mpv, and so on. I'd definitely pick a hatchback over a Sedan anytime.

I know, its a sedan, but Toyota is currently offering up to 70k discount on the Vios. You might want to check that out before getting any other B-segment vehicle. As for the other two its close. I would have to test both to decide for myself. I would probably lean a bit towards the Rio, but that is because, I am a MT guy. If you want an auto, the Rio is let down by coming with a pretty outdated 4 speed torque converter. This together with its larger 1,4 engine and higher weight will mean a quite large premium to be paid in fuel consumption.

I like everything about this Swift except its price.. Just too many options for that price.. Why can't Suzuki release the diesel version of this Swift in the Philippines? Maybe if the 900K has a diesel engine in it, that's game over with other competitors..

It makes no sense to use a diesel engine for city driving. Also Suzuki make very efficient gasoline engines. The 1,3 diesel, they offer in India, is an older engine purchased from Fiat.

The cheapest automatic is 799k, which is in line with the rest of the B-segment. The Yaris automatic start at 927k, which is 128k higher than the Swift. The new Swift is not a bargain, but its not overpriced either.
