I dont see any passion in the build here. Buying super expensive rims and seats while that money could be invested in improving the engine, brakes, suspenison and possibly transmission. The air intake part just demonstrates this perfectly. Buying expensive parts rather than trusting physics is what this build was about.

I just fixed that exact same oil leak on my little nugget. There is a trick so thought I'd share it. You don't have to remove the ac compressor or the exhaust, instead remove the front bumper and you can access the bolts front on & it gives you heaps of room due to the swift having a small radiator. I used a 1/4" drive ratchet with flexi and a ratchet spanner. No need to drain the coolant either just move the housing to the side with the line still connected and pull the gasket out.

A total rip off, and the trade-off as Moog says, more flow=less filtration with K&N. Plus it’s now a hot air intake, losing pretty much any gains, and except for the intake borp noise that’s it. They ended up with the stock as it works better.

I've been into Hondas and old Nissans for years, and quite honestly the Swifts are one of those cars that give you the same kind of connected feel and playfulness that so many modern cars lack. It's not scarily quick, but it's quick enough to get you to pace very easily, and keep you at a level you can really learn at. Driving one hard reminds me a lot of old EK4 Civics.

Yup, for better chassis stiffness I would add Beatrush fender bars. To reduce the roll summit RARB and a cusco FARB. Intake, one can go crazy with a suzuki sport ITBs or for me a trust intake. Exhaust same but with a Sunline single endcan. The factory bonnet is quite heavy stock so a CF one will help reduce weight. At higher speed track, a greddy sump guard helps to smooth the air flow under the engine creating 0 lift. For better grip out the corners a LSD will help it tons. Finally, just for the engine sake, a monster sports oil sump baffle plate... due to the oil pick up location, at certain Gs in a corner, it can't pick up oil and can cause premature failure.

I recently drove one when I went to French Polynesia. We really don’t have them in the US so it was the first time even seeing one, and it was extremely gutless but super nimble. It hates straights but chewed up the corners. I can definitely see how it would be a crazy fun car with the mods on a windy track.

I have the 2nd gen Swift Sport, it's such a fun little car. I changed from the original 17" wheels to 16" though, since it gives the option for wider tires and a bigger sidewall allows the tire to work a little better. The rolling diameter of the tires is also a little smaller, which makes the car even more punchy. An exhaust change is a must on these cars, they are way too muted with the stock exhaust. Next on my list is brake pads and coilovers (if the TÜV plays nicely).

Yes, wheels tyres, seats and a must have, full race harness. Out of all the mods I used for hillclimbs, my race harness gave me almost 2 seconds. Sure my R spec rubber also gave me 2 seconds, but the harness gave me that for 30% of the cost of rubber. And do them in stages, and take notes and see if you can get videos or pictures in corners so you can see what happens when the car is loaded. You need data like entry and exit speeds, tyre temp and suspension changes. That may sound like "over the top" , but if you want to go as fast as the vehicle is capable of, then you must collect data. And get a track app that allows you to see what happened.

If you ever go to the Nurburgring Nordschleife, by far the smartest thing you can do is hire a track-prepped Swift the whole time. It's cheap, and a lot of fun. Because there is nothing less fun than driving a fast car slowly at a track, and practically nothing more fun than thrashing the rings out of a slow car at a track. Plus, if you rent a 911 at the 'Ring you will have to pay the first 15,000 Euros of damage when you crash it. :P So, while a properly specified and prepared Swift won't be setting any lap times you want to tell your friends, well... anywhere, it most certainly WILL provide you with a lot of smiles. And because we know there isn't a car in this world that Moog can set a decent lap time in, it makes absolute and total sense!

Just to mention, it's worth checking the thermostat on these engines, they fail which is very common causing headlift because the car is running hot (temp gauge is very slow and may not even move). Go for a long drive getting the car warm, and check the lower rad hose which is near the gearbox, the hose must be warm or hot - this means the thermostat is opening up. My thermostat didn't open up which was causung my engine to run hot without even telling me.
