After I bought this addon: - My antivirus immediately started blocking the request for my location and other data from this addon (which is why they ask to run Blender as administrator) - The program takes a very long time to create the final image. In this video example it is greatly accelerated. It is absolutely not clear why I am not allowed to use the GPU. - Periodically crashes during generation - I would like a refund

This looks great! Just a few questions: 1. Does it require an internet connection to generate the depth map? Or does it work fully offline? 2. Does it work on Macs? Especially the ones with the M1-3 chips?

I like this tool, but you have to remember the limitations surrounding them, if they are good for the likes of 2.5D or backdrops, then these tool would actually be good

Meh. Cool, but I'll stick to my better/free/offline stuff personally. It's convenient to have a quick menu right in Blender, but we're limited to *your* choices, and it ends up being limiting in the end. It's getting harder and harder to pay $5+ dollars for convenient buttons and sliders nowadays. That being said, keep up the good work!

@@SerchBarna The Blender Market description says it's only for Windows, but they will eventually port it to macOS. Not all Blender addons are cross platform.

This uses what looks like the Marigold model which is basically Stable Diffusion trained to generate depth data, it's quite amazing, nothing you couldn't do yourself but this packages it up. What I don't like is that there is no option for running local.

I can't help but notice that all of your examples are fantasy environments, and likely done from 3D renderings to begin with. How is it on an arbitrary street photo? If it's for acceleration purposes, how does it do with a cursory, or a bad, drawing? I'm not sure how useful this is actually going to be to me.

HI, the image is loading, but when I click on generate depth map its giving a python error "module not found" and also says Run blender in administrator mode.. how do I do this on a Mac Studio M1 Ultra? (Sonoma OS 14.4.1) any one please help .. thank you

can you actually provide a step by step on how addon works got it instill tried to import image error, had to add an plane to scene because it need a 3d object to be selected??? ok then tried again error out...ok tried again processing for 1 hours nothing. like what are you doing I had to slow down the video to .25 to just see what button you where clicking on...can you please release a normal speed video like if you have the addon instilled what button you press or what order you ahve to do stuff...also I am using 4.2 for blender

Looks like a nice addon. But for Mac users it is headache or not possible to install it. The addon actually gets installed via preferences but the final step *Check Modules" requires you to run Blender as admin. I tried to run it via the terminal by dropping the Blender exec file to the terminal. In the final line it said Module 'gradio_client' is not installed which I guess prevented from running Blender as Admin. So, the addon didn't work for me. I guess I shall request refund for the addon, unfortunately (((

I hope everyone knows that they will train(steal) this AI on ALL your data and art which is why they want you to upload it to their cloud service. 0 reason for that since anyone usually running blender has the hardware capabilities to run it. Very lazy of Blender to only make this useable if you want them to steal from you.

Why is this needed in a 3d modeling animation software? Isn't the purpose of modeling, to model? Unless of course you are creating things that are near impossible to model effectively such as simulations and fluid dynamics and the like.

I thought the purpose of modeling was to HAVE a model. I enjoy modeling but it's also quite time consuming. Some things you want to make just aren't worth the time and effort you'd have to put into making them. Anything that makes the process easier can aid an artist's productivity.
