Autodesk Inventor 2016 Sheet Metal Flanged Arc

Please read the video comments, I'm just a beginner in drawing, don't use this as a professional workflow, tolerances are out! For this particular exercise, precise tolerances aren't critical for me, so it works (you don't get machined tolerances using rivets ;) ). For beginners, this shows a method of making sheet metal flanges over an arc which I found almost impossibly difficult with lack of info on the 'net. I invite design experts to point to resources which make for precise tolerances if/where applicable, (it'll help me learn too) thanks!

ebswift, I noticed that you represented the curved flange with many straight flanges due to real world limitation . . . I believe that these limitations are actually overcome in the real world with a machine called a bead roller. This machine bends using a roller so you can guide the bend along the curve. This machine, however, causes the flat sheet to warp. As you are probably aware, this is because the curved flange needs to be deformed in order to be attached to the same flat sheet. This problem is solved with a machine that either stretches of compressed the flange. It is quite an interesting process; simple but genius.

Interesting stuff, thanks for the insight. It's nice to know how real-world design problems are tackled the proper way. My design here is part of a copy of Adam Savage's toolbox which he did all by hand. I did it all in Inventor as an exercise to learn how to draw.
