Really shows the power of parametric design and the advantages of using Inventor,great tutorial!

That's really good tutorial! Thank you! I cannot stretch my stairs as You do it about 6th minute. May somebody help me find a solution why clicking at that point and moving it doesn't stretch the object?

Genuinely impressed by this demonstration. How do you think you would go about limiting the spacing between steps and setting a maximum and minimum step depth?
@asfandyaseen446825 күн бұрын
Pretty dumb question but how are you updating the model after dragging the driven dimension? Any hotkey combination for that?
@gebbe11 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thanx! I think both can be done, spacing between steps is already in the model. I'll try to get back to you on the step depth.

Thank you for the video. Have you figured out how to limit the spacing between steps? I suppose it's impossible with just parametres and requires iLogic programming.

This video was helpful but it would have been even more helpful if it had sound. I couldn't see most of the letters and numbers but it was helpful. thnx.

Hi There, as you can see in the parameters, I use an approximate step height. I divide my stair height by that en round it off. That is my number of steps. When I divide my Stair height by the number of steps I get my actual step height, that's all.

Hi Robbert, I use a shortkey to update my model. I not sure if it is possible to do it fully automatic.

So you use ''Local Update'' key to refresh the model after pulling the sketch? How did you make a shortcut to it?

did you use an algorithm for the "number of stairs"?

What Unit did u use for step_n_aprox? When i type ul into my Unit its gives me oE instead. It still works just wondering why. And btw why is it that u have to write "heigth" first , then change the unit and after taht write "/step_heigth_aprox"?

Why did you must switch to assembly? Can we do the whole workflow in part environment?
@gebbe5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, but doing it in Assembly mode is more challenging and in the end you do want an Assembly with parts to create your Bill of Materials.

dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8636965/spiral%20staircase.jpg I made a spiral staircase version. You can modify the total height, total width and the angle of the steps. What is the shortkey you're using to update your model? I can't figure out how to get mine to update easily like yours.
