Hi, this really helps me what to do to find the unknown force of the hydraulic. When I started to run the unknown force, there's an error that says "Impossible to assemble the mechanism, due to joint stops or locks defined by the user." I am not sure what locks it means but while doing the design I can just move the design fine no locks or whatsoever.

Rob, Thank you for posting this overview! I am working on an assembly that is a little less complex than yours, but Inventor keeps telling me the model is over-constrained by 3 degrees. I have 3 hydraulic cylinders in the assembly. The errors seem to be related to the cylindrical constraints between the rod and tube, and the cylindrical constraint's Inventor automatically applied to the cylinder pins that connect it to the structure. Any ideas?

Rob, after the FEA simulation you did not mention that the part failed at 575 Mpa and 0.4 safety factor. I realize you are just doing dynamic simulation training, but you should mention that it failed as an aside.

Hi, Thanks a lot. It gave lot of help in understanding the Dynamic Simulation. I have developed one model which have 2 Cylinders which are suppose to push one door up. But when I start unknown force application it says that unknown force "To use unknown force functionality , the mechanism must have a single degree of mobility. Currently it has 5 d.o.m.'s. In the joint properties dialog box , "Lock" d.o.f.'s." I am not in a position to understand. Can you help me please on this?

Hi Prasad, I don't think I could properly explain the answer to your question in these comments. There is some quality information in the Autodesk Inventor wikihelp (help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-5D433007-2D3C-41C9-8647-83CA4514D1B7) along with some good tutorials. When I teach a class on Dynamic Simulation I use "Up and Running with Autodesk Inventor Professional 20XX Part 2 - Dynamic Simulation" by Wasim Younis. Its an inexpensive book and can be found on Amazon.

means u have 6 degrees of freedom..3 for translation and 3 for rotation like every body has...what u have to to is to make sure your body can either rotate about x,y or z- axe or u can move the party in xy,xz or yz layer...just one rotation or translation allowed..
