I've been working on and off for a couple of years trying to learn F360. You, Brad, are without a doubt, my most valuable resource. Thank you.

Just a note: At 17:15min, where Brad mirrors the features. I find it handy to group those features together and name that section of work. You can then mirror that whole group.

At 55:53, you don’t have to creat a new sketch. You can have all three circles on the original sketch that created the emboss. Than, to make the hole through with the smaller circle, you go: Start -> From object, To -> All. And to make the counter bore, you go: Start -> From object, Offset -> 0.15, Distance -> All. ;)

I am so happy to have found this series. I am now confident that I will be able to use Fusion 360 for my design work.

At 1:05:40, I extruded down to make the hole with 'cut', clicked on the bottom of the tab, the hole appeared. I then thickened the tab to see if the hole would close. It did not. So... 'to object' didn't seem to be required. ???

Regarding the "workaround" at the 52:00 mark, mirroring an entire body will not always do the trick. Since Fusion 360 appeared to have an issue mirroring the "combine" feature, why not leave the parts separate and perform the combine AFTER the mirror?
@furkanagac13053 жыл бұрын
good question, maybe this is another solve way :)
@BlaiseBarrette4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the shout out! ;) At 46:02, you could have extruded cut directly from the face. In this case, no need to bring back the sketch! It can save a few clicks, especially if the sketch if buried far in the browser!

On the mirror error at 50:30 I changed the "Compute Option" from adjust to Optimized and it then it worked

Thank You! It was a great lesson! Multiple sketches are really interesting to save time and weight of the model.

Coming from an other software you make learning allover again a pleasure. The replace face was so simple what a great option. Thanks for showing that the red scary screen for split face is nothing to worry about. I have to reset my brain to use features when mirroring. The web extend curves is great. What a great software. The draft was neat. Extrude to object (got it) thanks. And moving the offset in features before the cut wow 🍒 on the cake! Thanks

Very nice series, im enjoying it a lot! I have noticed one problem though, right when you start the sketch at 28:30 for the inner parts of the second half. Its coming down at an angle because of the revolve that was used to cut the grove you created the sketch on (i hope you understand what i mean :D ) Not sure if thats causing any problems later on, but at least the screw holes are at an angle. Maybe you can somehow fix that?

Hey Brad - I know you get asked a lot about clearances, drafting etc. as you mentioned in this vid, but there's one specific thing that might be handy to show I think. When doing a combine cut, is there an easy way to add a little bit of clearance between the two parts for easy assembly, or is it just a case of doing a press/pull on the relevant faces?

At the beginning. You set a horizontal constrain between your horizontal line's midpoint and the vertical line. Why don't you use the symetric constrain? Just click on the points from your horizontal line then click your vertical line -> done. Very simple!

Thanks again! Really good to see more examples of the web command as haven't quite got that one into my mental toolbox yet (or more it is there, but is still in the shrink wrap!)

Oh yeh wanted to ask about the shift key's general name/purpose. I can see what it did at the start but guessing it's a "thing" that has multiple uses all over the place.
@GeryS.4 жыл бұрын
At around 55:44 why can't you use the hole command? Instead of picking the outter shell, pick the inner construction (face) you just created. 🤗

Great video. Fan 1 here. I was doing the Replace Face steps and got the following error: Error: ReplaceFace1 Compute Failed: The face(s) could not be replaced. Try changing the face selections. For Eda Face operations, avoid making changes where other faces connect smoothly. Do you have any advice? I have followed all the video rigorously

At the beginning of the video where you show snapping the vertical constraint to the midpoint of the line, why is the midpoint snap hidden without holding shift? I didn’t know this worked. Coming from inventor, it’s been one of the most frustrating things to not have that midpoint of the line to snap to so easily.
