Well, I do prefer the design of SEAT Ateca rather than Skoda Karoq. But inside Karoq is slightly better because it has the latest digital display and so on. The price can be its another advantage. Great job Thomas & Brian! Thanks for so much information just from the premiere!

Uauu, after two days 26 K views ! I am not surprised because of car that is introduced and because of new double commenting, new dynamics. You have just lifted testing videos to a new level and I am sure you will improve it further, no doubt. I am really keen to find out pricing and drive experience and maybe first updated exterior that would make car more alive. They don`t have to be boring as some German cars are.

For the design Ateca is better, but practicality and functions Karoq is leading as always from Skoda cars. We will the prices and how it will compute with price performance.

Been watching ur reviews since long time. Created a bogus google Id just to subscribe to ur channel .My first n only subscription ever, that shows how much I ❤️ ur reviews. In my opinion when u r a petrol head 5-10mins reviews don't do justice to a car. Given ,I will spend 15000 euros in a car and keeping in mind the time n effort designers n engineers put, ur reviews do justice. Thomas I will buy a car soon in India , I will ask for ur advice. I am in Europe now on job assignment so had to sell my top end swift diesel. For me driving pleasure is paramount (Hope to buy the 3 series one day:) hence it was the swift. This gig was awesome till we get the full review. I guess it will come to India so kind of following it. Didn't like the bottom end at the front. The "fridge" analogy was hilarious. Cheers Tom/Brian

Tomas, considering your acquired knowledge between Skoda and Seat brands, from first impression would you go for a Seat Ateca or Skoda Karoq? Do you think the Karoq will be heavier, or will the TSI 1.0 be worse or equally adequate on the Karoq?

That center screen is nice but it's way too slow for 2017, at 9:55 seeing icons load like that is terrible... No borderless rear view mirror, need to keep stuff for VW/Audi right :)

Skoda gets better and better with the new SUV model-offensive and the high class interior and the up-to date infotainment!! The exterior looks harmonic and cool - in a positive way !! 😍 I hope they will launch a VRS or a Sportline version. 😉💪 I think they hit the mark with the Karoq ! I really apreciate the new and well known simply-clever solutions. 👍 Team-report XD

I would comment that in the interior the transition between the infotainment and the climate controls is not seamless, the angular shape plastic between is not looking good and perhaps a brushed aluminium would have improved things. In exterior I like that fog lamps are better aligned than in Kodiaq but the rear even if the led taillights are nicely done, I also saw the fridge Brian mentioned. Interesting to see how it drives, and also the price comparison with Ateca (would it be cheaper or not?). Nice dual interview, keep up the good work!

All Škoda models use synthetic leather at the moment so you don't need to be worry about their seats Thomas. You should know the difference. BTW your reviews are the best.

Another good detailed review. Karoq is ok if a little bland. Very like the Ateca. Also the varioflex seating system has been around since 2009 with the Yeti (I have one). It's useful but not new. Personally I prefer the 'Tonka' like looks of the Yeti. I'd like to see it in the metal. I saw the Kodiaq recently and it looked better than I had expected from reviews. Maybe this will too.

Thomas, you guys are super fast! Loved the review and dual style of presentation with Brian. Lively and as always thoroughly informative :) Personally for me, although this looks like younger sibling of Kodiaq, somehow the design seems bit too conservative, prob. for not overshadowing Kodiaq 5-seater. Lacked the WOW factor that I felt during Kodiaq review. But this could be early to comment, looking fwd to detailed review soon :-)

I'm curious to see your opinion of this engine compared to the 1,5 TSI DSG. After all the price difference between the two engines are only 1400 €. Looking forward to your "kaufberatung".

Thanks a loy guys, another immensely enjoyable preview. Your review of the Peugeot 3008 caused me to order one; and I still feel the interiors of all current SUV's are mundane by comparison. Had I not chosen a 3008 it would be a close run thing between the Ateca and Kodaq for me.

excellent review brian and thomas. the two up presentation is fantastic, its something different and refreshing, and offers two perspectives. the karoq looks like a decent car, although certainly not exciting. would i choose this over a tiguan, probably not, as the tiguan offers a bit more. also not sure of the purpose of the ability to remove the rear seats. the boot / trunk is cavernous anyway, and with the seats folded down you could fit a bike in there easily, or flat pack furniture from ikea. perhaps its just a skoda quirk.

Nice review, though you really need to invest in a second microphone to help stop the 'beetlejuice' effect of Thomas magically appearing when his name is said. Karoq looks good and I think Skoda are right to play the design safe while they build their reputation as a 'Volkswagen but without the high price'. The next version can be a bit more adventurous.

+Autogefuhl - I've just been to the UK Skoda website to check Karoq details/specs (there weren't any!) but it came up with a long video of the live stream of the Stockholm launch - and in the video we were introduced to the lady in question, as the "moderator"; and were also able to witness all the journalists being subjected to food, drink and a long presentation by Skoda executives!

This was a very nice stand up show! Do not you feel that the gentleman who showed the seat removing process was not confident enough about this solution? I am also wondering whether you have a comment on the bonnet holder stick. Does it fit to the image of a car with lcd movie display dash panel? Or the owners do not even open open the bonnet? Maybe. I give a like to the red pants lady at the beginning :)

I´m very sad, that i have to wait for the Sportline Edition in red! I hope, the seats comes in very nice options/colors! Skoda will be simply clever, but where is the bicycle holder to pull out from the rear bumper like Opel! To lay one bike in the car is no problem! But two or three is not easy or inpossible! Put the bikes on the top is not a option for everyone older user! Silly is, that Skoda bring the new motors in this car and the Kodiaq comes with the older engines with 1,4L! A very nice car,but i have to wait on him....sad,sad,sad

Car manufacturers really need to start using non-flickering & low-bluelight LED panels for their cars' interior, or change the instrument gauges back to analog! Many newer computer monitors and TVs have non-flickering & low-bluelight features, because those two are harmful and stressful to human eyes!

The idea of having the back seat middle arm rest is stupid, having to fold the whole seat down. if used like this while driving means anything is going to fall into the boot area or anything in the boot could stick through to the seating area. Why not have just a pull down arm rest like the Tiguan etc

So far I don't like it. I like the boxy little Yeti. I packed a ton of utility in a small SUV and it reminds me of classic Land Rovers & Jeeps.
