Another honest unbiased view from Thomas. To answer the question why you kept asking about why German cars haven’t put their energy into the concept and tech of electric cars, rather than the execution of manufacturing, I believe the answer lies in the complicated circular relationships between the German auto makers, the German auto labour unions and the German auto parts supply companies. 2 out of the three are holding back the full dive into electric vehicles . and also the lease finance business model, which again rewards the auto parts companies and ”protects” the labour making those auto parts, reinforces the negative feedback loop. Also the same with the other heritage automakers whether American or Japanese.

A very thorough review and I agree with pretty much everything. I had a 2017 Model X P100DL and recently swapped to a Raven Performance (white with white/carbon fiber interior and black 22”) and I absolutely loved the changes that come with Raven. Especially the suspension, but also the performance boost, especially above 100 km/h. A great car became much better. I’ve driven Tesla since 2015 now and since buying that first Tesla, no other car has even come close. Well, until a month ago, when I drove the Porsche Taycan. That’s the only car I would even consider buying instead of a Tesla. It’s superb. You should review it!

Magnificent review. I’ve watched both MX reviews and the progression of the vehicle is like watching a child grow from age 14 to 28. I grew up in the back seat of my father’s 944. I watched him trade it for a Camry (that’s how much he hated the 944) and the Camry for a first gen LS 400 - the Batmobile. I am taking delivery of my MX Raven 12/26/2020 - the real Batmobile. But enough with the Xmas mode (nonsense). Beautiful review, truly. I have only one critical response. You claim that innovation is the easy part, and refinement the difficult part. I say innovation is the fun part and refinement the boring part. Just because something is fun does not make it easy. Baseball is fun, but not easy. It’s fun to take a revolutionary idea to 90% fruition. The remaining 10% is boring. Yes, I am an American.

I have a Model X, Black Exterior and White Inside. Had been waiting for a luxury brand to come up with a competitor but in the end I ordered one due to its improvements. Why wait, as Tesla has been out for years with out competition. Plus the one thing I would add to this amazingly good review from Thomas is the charging network. Its so much easier to drive a Tesla anywhere in the US due to the Super Charger network.

I was skeptical about Tesla until my test drive. The S was nice but not spectacular in terms of experience and form-factor (I’m a bimmer fanatic). But the moment I sat in the X I was wowed. The helicopter-style windscreen, large touch screen, awesome shape (I love the back!) and the falcon doors. Then I took it for a spin, and was totally hooked. Despite its bulk the low CGI results in responsive handling and a butter-smooth ride experience. I ordered the minute I got back to the showroom. Can’t wait for it to arrive (next week 🤞). Btw you know Tesla have created something special because I’ve waited 5 weeks for mine so far and I’m still so damn eager to get it!

The Hold position is fantastic! I use it always on my Model Y and almost never have to use the brake pedal-maybe once every five trips. After you use regen braking for a week or so, you can control the speed and acceleration/deceleration precisely without even thinking about it.

G M Without Giga Berlin! Tesla is a global company and before Shaghai is up to max capacity and producing Model Y, and without Berlin, is shipping cars to the destination of their choice. For example Tesla are No 1 in South Korea 2020, the home of Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro!

There is actually a easy entry to the 3rd row. Push the “shoulder botton” on the second row and push it forward immediately. Then it slides and lean forward for easy entry

Tesla really is accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Fantastic. Raven Performance is so fast, so easy, and soooo much cheaper to own than any other gas cars in the same range. And Tesla supercharger network is really working.

The VERY latest update, which includes significant updates for the Raven suspension system, is another big leap forward. This new update, available just in the last few days since this video was released, includes improvements in ride quality, expands the range of adjustment for the suspension options, and more. You are able to directly control the suspension compression damping, rebound damping, and similar options. You can now gain additional ways to adjust the suspension that improve handling, ride quality, and comfort. Would really enjoy a follow up review by this same reviewer JUST focused on the suspension update. That should limit the amount of time required by the creator, but would really show the value of OTA updates and how they can increase the value and capabilities even without making mechanical changes.

@@autogefuehl I'd like to see a more in-depth comparison of these. As someone who drives a Model 3 with autopilot most of the time, it's the best system I've used. Sometimes people think it can be twitchy, but in reality you want it to be responsive to the situation. I'd be surprised if the traditional automaker systems could handle something like a twisty back-road or a close merge on the highway.

@@neil454 Have you even driven the other carmakers systems? You write like you have. The biggest problem with tesla owners is you think your car does things others don't because you're usually ignorant to every other car and their carmaker. Most have never even tried a European premium brand before buying a tesla so the assumptions are ludicrous. Other carmakers systems are better especially for self parking. See Bjorn Nyland's channel for that reference on how bad tesla's self parking is. If it can't even negotiate low speed maneuvers properly, how people trust it at high speed is baffling. They just restrict their system less even though it doesn't work or react 100 percent safely. Every carmaker can do the same but they actually follow rules and regulations. Several years back Mercedes showed a production version of the W222 S Class drive across Germany. They can all do it but under no circumstances will they release that to the public. Regulations aren't ready and people aren't ready. People do silly things with autopilot. Risk to the company increases. Tesla may take that risk with people's lives but other carmakers won't do that.

Good review and honest, not favoring the German marques. I recently drove an e-Tron but the range is pathetic compared to this, and it did not have AAC or LKAS standard! It seemed to be built well and had a beautiful interior, but it's no Tesla. The iPace is smaller, slower, and less expensive, but I found it cramped inside, and British electronics have always been suspect. Maybe the Volvo Polestar EV's can be the next to challenge the mighty X. I really don't need 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, so I'd go for a base model. Chill!

I think EVs like the Nissan Leaf & Honda E are awesome! I don't like Tesla though....that's like the Apple of cars. Dislike both brands. That being said, the only thing I don't like about EVs is the lack of exhaust sound and no manual transmission. So EVs are great mainstream cars if your buying cars like a Honda Fit/Civic/Golf etc.....so why not buy a EV instead. Or if your driving something boring than EVs are a great alternative. But if your a fan of JDM sports cars like myself, than I'll personally keep buying cars like the Subaru WRX STI and enjoy them in my lifetime since i enjoy manual shifting and listening to my beautiful Fujitsubo exhaust =)
