Great findings Matt! I used to use the Clean Wheels, but did find that the acids would start eating away at the insides of the spray head, so it won't spray properly after a few weeks. So after each use, one idea is to invert the bottle and give it 3 sprays to clear it out. Assuming the bottle is not leaking from the top, obviously.

Nice one Matt! My wheels are cleaned regularly, so a wheel shampoo is sufficient for me but, I'd have no issue trying out that 5L option though. All the best.

One word of caution when it comes to using caustic wheel cleaners that a lot of DIY'er's at home don't realize. If you wax or use a sealant on your rims, you might want to think twice about using those heavy hitter wheel cleaning products. While most work well, many are very high on the PH scale, some as high as a PH 13.5 to 14 which is very alkaline and will most likely strip off any form of protection you have, or more appropriately said "HAD" on your wheels because they may strip off any form of protection you have on your rims. For the rim face of wheels that have heavy contamination, I use P21S Wheel Cleaner or their Wheel Cleaner Gel which are PH controlled (maybe as high as a 9.5 so it's on the more moderate alkaline scale) which will be much less likely to strip off any wax or sealant you have on your rims. On well maintained wheels (meaning a waxed, sealed, or ceramic coated rims), that are cleaned weekly or bi-weekly, believe it or not I use Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Cleaning Gel Concentrate which is PH NEUTRAL and a soap based formula which they describe as oxygen infused whatever that is. It is a very safe wheel cleaner that won't strip off your wax or sealant. Now it's not going to get heavy dirt and baked on grime off of a wheel. It just won't do that. Another one that I really like for well maintained wheels here in the USA is Griot's Garage regular wheel cleaner (blue colored formula). It's very safe on rims sealed with a polymer sealant or wax. I use Fusso Coat on my rims and it seems to have pretty good chemical resistance. I maintain the finish with a spray and rinse sealant after weekly cleaning. It keeps the Fusso Coat topped up with a sealant on top to help reject wheel grime that is accumulated during your driving time. Anytime you see products with the words ACTIVE, it usually means that it's either a HIGH (Alkaline) or LOW (Acidic) product, wheel cleaner or soap. Again, the more caustic cleaners work great in those situations when you have a trashed wheel, but not necessary at all when you have a well maintained wheel. I was using them all the time not realizing that many will strip off your protection. A lot of the iron removers are great wheel cleaners and most of those are PH balanced and perfectly safe, other than 90% of them smell horrible like rotten eggs. I just hate dealing with that smell. Diablo doesn't have a bad smell, it smells like a soap, although it won't tackle the heavy contamination like an Iron Remover will. I'm not sure what products are popular there in the UK that are closer to the PH neutral scale. I am blown away when people have a pristine looking wheel or something with basic dirt and grime on it that will come right off with a swipe of the finger, and they spray acids and super high alkaline cleaners (like Super Clean or Purple Power here in the USA) all over the rims, which work great on trashed wheels but are totally not necessary in most situations. In fact, on rims that are well maintained, you usually only need soap from your wash bucket to clean your rims. Where you may need the higher alkaline cleaners are on the tire rubber itself which might need a higher alkaline cleaner to get the dirt and grime off the tire rubber itself. Diablo or other PH neutral products might not have enough bite to clean the rubber. Just try to keep those products off the rim face if you have waxed them or sealed them with a polymer sealant.

Hi Matt, I use a normal car shampoo to wash my wheels regularly using a mitt and brush. Should I be using a dedicated wheel cleaner? My wheels are ceramic coated with Gyeon Rim. I've also bought a bottle of Gyeon Restart which I was going to use regularly on the wheel to avoid any build up of iron from the brakes.

Interesting review Matt. For me AG bottles are rubbish, always leak or spray intermittently. Also you can't see how much product you're using due to solid white bottles, and lastly like their apc the products are just too expensive when many other better brands have dilutable products. IMHO they are a gateway brand until you gain knowledge and experience to move on to better and more cost effective brands.

First off - Good videos, im subscribed 👍 I hate to see that on wheels - scuffs round the edge. Just shows people dont look after their cars. I couldnt live with scuffed wheels. Its like walking out the house to go for an interview with battered shoes. 🫤

Don't buy RTU products. Find a good solid brand and buy their dilutable wheel cleaner. Take for instance Wax Planet Aluminium, £12 for 1 litre of concentrated, make 10L at 1:10 ratio, and can be knocked down even more.
