@@smudgetherealmc I'll repeat the comment I made on its own... "In the UK, the only wheel cleaner I've come across which does a proper job to alloy wheels is Wonder Wheels. It's horribly acidic stuff though and you definitely don't want to leave it on too long. This might be the old formula which I have, I've heard rumours the new formula is less acidic and less effective, but I haven't tried it, so don't know for sure." Wonder Wheels was a revelation, after trying all sorts of cleaners which didn't really seem to do much. I recommended it to a friend after he had also tried a load of cleaners and none of them really worked. Things may have changed now, I haven't bought a lot of wheel cleaners in more recent times, since I found the one which worked! I did buy some modern Wonder Wheels Colour Active spray on stuff recently but I haven't tried it yet. I wouldn't have thought it would work as well as the old acid stuff, but I'm prepared to be surprised! I would expect it to be a bit gentler than the old one though. I just did a search and you can get "Wonder Wheels Original" these days as well. Edit: Just watched a review on KZbin and it says the Colour Active worked better than the "Original" - though the "Original" doesn't seem as strong as the one I have from the 1990s!

When the buttons pressed how quick the phone notifys you on and off local wifi, subscription required or not, motion detection(again how quick to notify you), battery life, if the clips start recording in time(sometimes the person is already leaving), price, if it comes with a normal ringer, and lots more easy ones. Similar with smart battery CCTV. Pressure washers too maybe? Solar panels(watts per $, output compared to the advertised wattage, sqft per watt).

These are aspects that are very important, that people do not think about (but REALLY should) that im not sure hes up to testing as it dives somewhat deep into IT/Security/Networking knowledge). Using a test tire with raised white lettering would have shown the differences between the products better than an all black tire. This is due to two reasons: 1)The white letters show dirt more than black, and 2)The rough texture of the white letters (due to the tire manufacturing process) makes them harder to clean than the smooth surfaces. For anyone who wants their tires to look really good: I apply tire cleaner all the on all 4 wheels then a second coat followed by a tire brush. After that, I use a power washer on the tires and they look how I want them to. Thanks for your great work.

Oddball suggestion: pipe fittings. You can buy cheap NPT (even stainless steel) piping parts, adapters, etc, but a lot of them will leak.
@ProjectFarm5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the video idea!
@A.C._Taylor5 ай бұрын
Back in my pipefitting days, I used to fit high pressure separator units (1440 P.S.I. MAWP and up). A lot of projects were spec'd in with Bonney Forge brand fittings. Mainly because they had/have proven quality control (ISO 9001 and API certified) and all fittings had full traceability (no fake mill test reports). Even they would often leak without a thread sealant. A thread sealant is a must if the connection doesn't use a polymer seal such as an O-ring boss (ORB) or a gasket of some sort. Even hammer unions that are machined to each other would leak without a rubber O-ring. The biggest concern with offshore fittings is the material it's self. That being what the fittings are claimed to be made of and whether they will stand up to the alleged ratings that a properly made fitting would be capable of.
@cheweh8425 ай бұрын
@@A.C._Taylor Good point about thread sealant--that could be yet another video idea. I've found best to worst for NPT up to 2" are loctite 567, blue monster tape, and last are the ubiquitous cheap white teflon tape and blue pipe dope. But my experience was a lot of jerry-rigging low pressure applications, trying out junk that leaked at 0 psi no matter what.

My family drives BMWs and we are quite familiar with that brake dust! I found that most wheel cleaners from reputable brands like Sonax and Adam's work well, but what really makes a difference is using a touchless sealant (like Gyeon Wet Coat) on the wheels after cleaning, this keeps them clean longer.

I own a Tesla, but I continue receiving conflicting information about the best windshield washer fluid to use in the vehicle. I have searched forums, spoken to representatives from Tesla (cannot tell me a specific brand to purchase), and read online reviews from many websites. However, after viewing three of your videos today, you give off an unbiased, easy to understand assessment, and a conclusion that best serves the viewer. This is not common elsewhere. If possible, could you please create a breakdown of the best windshield washer fluid? For the effort you put into these videos, thank you so much. 👏

Doing it the cheap way: dishwasher detergent and dishwasher shine. All clean all shiny. ...even better: buy a second hand dishwasher from Marketplace or similar and use it to rinse the entire wheels! The machine can be stored in your garage.

Depending on the rim, I've found wiping the rims down with a dry rag is the best and fastest way to clean them. I've found cleaners, ANY cleaner, to make the dirt (mostly brake dust) gooey and smears all over the rims and makes more of a mess than you had before you started... otherwise, just a brush and some carwash soap in a bucket of water will do it. The brush also cleans the tires, no acids, no goo, no burned drip spots. Thanks for another great video!

I bought the Adams cleaner because of this video to clean the chain lube off my wheels and tires. Nothing I had tried previously was able to take it off. Good new is it took the chain lube, brake dust, and baked on dirt, right off. Bad News is it also took the clear coat off my wheels lol. Be careful when using it. It is very strong.

As I do nearly always I let the commercials play. I use Mother's for most things. The wheel and tire cleaner I own isn't a foaming one so it must be an older formula.
