Michael Tarantino just built one online. F Type Coupe Base with all the nice interior options come out to about 73k. Thats 27k left to put into the motor and some wheels. You could easily get it to w/e hp you want for that kind of money as long as you find a shop willing to do that shit and do it right lol. Probably gonna take a year till that is possible but still. Sumthin bout dat v8 dooohhh

Here in the UK, the XF and XJ series are near the top of the list when it comes to reliability in luxury sedans. My own XF diesel has had no issues so far at 47,000 miles and a work colleague has a similar model having covered 88,000 trouble free miles.. However, you are right about Porsche being the most reliable sports car available.

i actually own 09 f430 and a 2014 Jaguar XK, i test drove the F-Type at the dealer but im almost 45, i looked like a young kid on fast and furious driving that thing around, even the dealer said jaguar is trying to attract young wealthy proffesionals with that car.

I'm finding it hard to believe that you have seen this car in real. It's beautiful - perfect shape and form. I have driven this several times and its way better than an the XK. Comparing it to an elise or a miata..its just wrong.

Hi, we have a 2014 F-Type R convertible. We want to do a little customising on our car. The front grille, it has this black bar going through it. Is it possible to remove that and put the number plate on a bracket? Or is that bar significant for some use for the car? Thanks.

True, the paddle shifters let you select different gears, but it is still an automatic transmission. If Jag sells enough of these or demand for a manual is enough, they will likely offer a six-speed manual.

Its a nice looking car, but can't agree with all the comments. Back end is absolutely fantastic, and the profile is awesome, but the front end is a bit weird, maybe its the lights shape or the weird side air vents. Don't agree with the v8 engine being best sounding, sounds to raspy, kinda like a singing alcoholic, mustang cobra sounded way better than that. Out of all these probably the base model is just right, no need to compete with the ricers, just enjoy the car. Interior is beautiful yet a bit sobdued a bit, looks like they could make the LCD a bit bigger they got room, but the finish is excellent. Nice job Jag!

Do not talk like that, you are not dumb ! Look everyone out there these car manufactures can produce a car that is fun and low priced . Here is my point YOU DO NOT need a 450 horsepower car to have fun. What ever happened 50/50 weight distribution ? Look I am an old man but when I was young we could make a really net affordable fun hot rod . My wish for you younger people is to have the same thing available . Let's have the excitement brought back to the Automotive Industry like it use to be .

Haha bit of a sweeping statement considering the car has only been out a few months. I think it will be fine and hold up against any porsche. The steering doesn't communicate the road amazingly at speed but all modern cars are losing that sense of the road.

In the UK, Jaguar has been named the best manufacturer in the 2013 JD Power customer satisfaction survey. This includes all engines not just diesels. Points are accumulated for good reliability, performance, service and running costs. I think the poor reliability is largely based on older models.

Oh by the way I had a new 2+2 Jag...what a junker . We also had a MG and a Triumph and they were total junk. Quality from England .....all the pro's know that is not true . Two years later the Boss 302 and Z 28 came out, now tell how much do you think they are worth today ? One of the most appreciated cars in the world is a A C Shelby Cobra, same era! Oh by the way I sold them and the Ford GT40 at Tasca Ford . So God bless and good luck ! Lotus , TVR and on and on !

A true manual has a clutch pedal. An automatic does not. The R8 can be had with either a true manual or a paddle shifted dual-clutch "automatic". Rather than being a true auto or a true manual, it has two physical clutches, but they are operated by the car itself when you pull the paddle, rather than by your foot. What the F-Type has is no different than paddle shifters on a Toyota Camry... just a much fancier version.

Its a good car, the Corvette C7, and well designed. But you really get what you pay for. The F-type is build much better and to be fair, the quality is alot better on the F-type. Besides european cars are just more expensive than american build cars, and quality is really the biggest reason.

Sure you can. Use one knee to steer, but... with the phone wedged between your knee and the wheel. Then you can text with you left hand and shift with the right. Works best in school zones cuz you are only going 40.
