I had the opportunity to hear Bryan perform some years ago, what a treat! I've discovered the virtues of a diatonic harp (I presume) by watching and listening to him play now that I know a bit more about the instrument. I didn't know why he had all those harps on the floor by him back then. Now I have a notion of why.

This playing has given me great joy. I have just discovered the autoharp which in Brian’s hands is magical.

Ah the memories of my days chasing Bluegrass Festivals all over the DC metropolitan areas. Made some great musician friends including John Harford, Doug Dillard, and a crazy autoharp player named Bryan Bowers. I remember sitting in the bed of Bryan's Old Yellow Pickup truck with the Dillards and inhaling some rather intoxicating fumes that were present. Later Bryan performed his famous autoharp lesson while "slightly" HIGH. Here he is remembering those days years later.

Happy memories of seeing Brian playing at Mariposa Folk Festival (Toronto Islands) in the early '70's. I still have his LPs.

I was introduced to Brian's Bower's music at the Louisville Bluegrass Festival in Aug 1987. Bluegrass amazed me, especially through his music, stories and humor.
