Another good reason is that stainless steel resists road salt much better than the OEM mild steel. Not a problem in Oz, I guess ;)

In Oz we don't have any salt left to put on the roads - not that we need it. All of Australia's salt is used in the production of Vegemite.

My wife, an Aussie, insists on keeping a stash of Vegemite. Reminds me of that story in which people are advised to carry a can of dog food in the glovebox. Nobody would think of eating it ordinarily, so it's always there in an emergency ;)
