Thanks, very useful. Believe it or not, I have used the same pointing model since June 2015 when I put my 8" scope on the DDM60. A few years ago I replaced the scope with a 10" and used the same pointing model - it was still good enough. Now I have upgraded the scope to a rigid carbon fibre tube. Same pointing model, but it is time to do a new one to correct a slight error between left and right hemispheres. I can't really remember the details of sequence and getting Autoslew to read a new pointing model so your video was a good refresher.

Hmm, interesting - Maybe it is good enogh with a "ruff" model when shooting short FL and always using MLPT... (I assume you use MLPT?) Always glad to help :) (I look at them myself too when i forget) /Daniel

@@ExoPhotography1 Pointing file made and running - superb accuracy!. The only problem was that for some reason I got errors saying that access to some of the Autoslew and Sequence files was denied. Once I had found them and changed the permissions to 'Full Control' everything worked like a dream. 58 Images taken and all plate solved. That should do for another 7 years...

Hi Daniel, instead of centerng the star with the autoslew controls, you can use a right mouse click on the the star in maximdl and choose "point telescope here". You just have to calibrate the camera orientation using pinpoint in the telescope folder once. Its very precise and much faster. CS Thomas PS. Wich gps modul you are using? I have problems with my navilock gps in autoslew since I change ro windows 10.

Are you kidding me right now? That would be the greatest invention sience sliced bread! My world is now upside down and i salute you! THIS is what i love with this community :) You sir deserve a Nobel prize! REgarding the GPS, I use the one reccomended in the ASA documentation, I believe it is Navilock NL-602U In order to get the GPS working, you have to download the original software for that GPS and set it up once, after that, it works very good! /Daniel

HaHa;-) thank you. If you have problems to setup the centre function feel free to contact me. Regading the gps: I'm using the navilock NL603U and it starts fine but during the night it will be less satellites and then the time reading failed. Do you mean with the original software the u-centre? Wich driver are you using? Under windows 7 I never had a problem.
@ExoPhotography13 жыл бұрын
@@Thomas-mn5ih Yes, the U-centre, just used it once and it has been working sience. I am using Win 10 Pro The driver is the U-Blox AG version 2.30.0.0 from 2016-10-25, so it is a old driver, but it works just fine. (9600 bauds with Com 4, but that is just my PC)

When I go to AutoPoint, my grids don't have as many points as you. In fact I only a dotted line from E-W through the zenith. Aside from manual MouseGrid, how do I set up AutoGrid with more reference points that covers more of the visible sky like yours? I've mimicked your AutoGridSettings but to no avail.
@ExoPhotography12 жыл бұрын
did you follow the settings in the "Autogrid menu" which is around 21:25 in the video? I have set my points to be placed every 12 degree in both Dec and RA. What min alt have you set? /Daniel

@@ExoPhotography1 Sorted! It turned out that since I'm on the Southern Hemisphere, I had to play with the start and end Dec figures! I've got my grid now. Thank you!

@@AnakChan Perfect :) Usually, after years if using Autoslew and Sequence - most times, it is a setting or something one has forgotten - the program it self is not the best looking and up to date, but it does work - every single night (for me +200 days without ANY hickup what so ever)
