I really liked your project. Fantastic. Just the idea I'm looking for to feed all the cats in my rescue shelter. 👍

Best idea ever im getting tired of sparrows and rats eating my chicken feed this is going to save me money for sure

Of all the treadle auto feeders, this is the one I will attempt because its appears the simplest. You did great editing this video & I thank you for figuring out the measurements and numbers too. I will amend with my own alterations which incorporate sides to the pedal on each side that wont hinder the arm swing thus allowing the chicken on either side to be upon the pedal as well. Dont want to possibly injure any side eating hens. Edited. So here I am a day later, I tried to re-create this feeder using your calculation shown in the video but I came out wanting. After reviewing the video again I see a change that you made on the width of the box from 25cm to 35cm, ideally allowing for it to hold more grain. I also see in your drawings of the box that you omitted the middle verticle on both sides. Whereas you have only shown a 10cm frame piece coming down from the top. Ideally, the middle frame piece should be 25cm to connect from top to bottom as there is no support for the top box on your drawing. So, by my calculations the materials needed are as follows: 55cm x 2 35cm x 6 30cm x 2 25cm x 6 15cm x 2 10cm x 0 The 10cm pieces are logically absorbed by using a middle verticle of 25cm. Also, as needed are the arms & swing strips of wood for the pedal. In your video I see the hinge wood was replaced by heavy wire instead of using the smallest cut piece of wood in the whole project. Please forgive me for picking apart your project but understand that I had to because (I'm not a carpenter. just extremely handy with tools) I spent half a day splitting 2x4s for this project and the second half figuring out the logic behind your video, as is. But mostly, because I assumed your working numbers of cut lengths were accurate, I didn't take time tovreview your work prior to me wasting an entire day horsing around with this thing. I was so thoroughly fed up by suppertime that I went to Amazon's site and purchased one made of galvanize. Set me back $130.00. but by that lesson, I did learn somethings. I won't be making assumptions in the future regarding any video posted on KZbin. I will check the work before I get my tools out next time. Nice effort to teach something useful though and you did educate me in more ways than you ever anticipated. Mahalo & Aloha

Well just looking at the materials they chose to make this tells me not to trust anything they are putting out.

Why would you use that type of wood for outdoor use?

Good idea, but cheap material. It wouldn’t last long. Eventually it will die outdoor quickly. Indoor may be a bit longer life time.

Maybe sometime someguy thinks to replace soft materials by hard materials, who knows? Everything can happen

I can see a chicken putting his head on the side and then a chicken standing on the lift getting off and getting chicken head caught

Good point, when I build mine I will have to adjust the pieces on the side to prevent that. Thanks for mentioning that.

There’s one problem that I can see. If a chicken is eating from the sides and the chicken from the front that opened it gets off. I would imagine The side chicken would have the door come down on their heads .

I can see that happening
