oh my GOD i just bought a 2018 nissan rogue this summer. the other day some cars spun out on the highway and got absolutely wrecked RIGHT in front of my car. like i am 100% certain i would’ve died. i ended up stopping literally two inches away from it all and i only got a scratch on the hood from flying debris. realized the AEB is what saved my life. in a matter of half a second when we were all going over 70 on the highway. came to this video to see what the technology’s about. i am sO grateful for my car choice rn if ur considering a nissan definitely do it.

This helped me greatly today, it saved my car Altima from front collision. The car in front of me stopped abruptly, i applied brakes too, but due to AEB addon, I could stop completely in time and with distance. I was at 75 mph, firstly it beeped with warning sign, and automatically stopped the car within seconds, along with my braking. Highly recommend this feature. Thank you God, Thank you Nissan ❤

For those people complaining about the AEB system activating under normal circumstances, don't blame it on Nissan. Honda and other manufacturers also have the problem, which happens simply because of how a radar works; it sends signals straight ahead which bounce off an object (if any). That detected object is then transferred as data back to the radar, considering it a potential threat since it's straight ahead/nearby. The car then makes an attempt to completely/partially stop if there is no action taken. Because of this, the AEB system might be a life-saver or a life-risker (hit or miss) Calibrating the sensor might help, but it'll still not resolve the problem We would have to wait and see if the automotive industry comes with a more reliable sensor to replace the radar or try to perfect it with advanced software.

Did you even watch the video? It sounds like you are thinking of self driving cars but the video is about emergency automatic braking systems and I seriously doubt if there is anyone out there who would purposely not brake when they were supposed to just because the car can do it automatically. These systems are for when we make a normal human error and miss something. And lets face it, if we are being honest with ourselves, we have ALL experienced those times when our attention was somewhere else and we suddenly found ourselves having to slam on the brakes and narrowly avoided hitting something. In fact, I got rear ended a few years ago while waiting to make a left turn because another accident on the side of the road had distracted the driver behind me. These are the types of situations that these systems are made for. And the only reason a person would purposely not brake in these cars would be to test their effectiveness - perhaps in a youtube video. As for self driving cars you are always supposed to stay attentive even with these systems engaged but eventually these systems will make far fewer mistakes than human drivers do. Of course the only time I would personally use such a system would be when in stop-and-go traffic on the LA freeways during rush hour.
@GMoney-B4 жыл бұрын
That’s a stupid statement. Nobody is perfect, you are not perfect, people make mistakes unintentionally and unforeseeably. It’s the same as an air bag just like mentioned in the video. By your reasoning you should not have an air bag because you should be paying attention, and that airbags are a danger for exploding in your face.

As a couple of the responders have indicated, yesterday I also experienced this system with a 2017 Nissan Rogue SL activating when there is no one at all in front of me. It was scary . Moving at 30 mph, sudden sharp braking, 3 beeps from dashboard. The car slowed down to about 1/2 speed. I think my accelerating shut it off. Luckily no one was close behind me. I went to my dealer, she gave me an appointment for Monday, but I was surprised to hear her say " you must leave the car all day, as we must try to duplicate that same thing happening". "Be careful". I've driven the car for 2 days, it never happened again. Can this system only be tested by "chance" of it happening again? Can't the system be tested electronically in any way? Seems bizarre to me.

This feature is potentially life threatening when you have faulty sensors installed into the vehicles! My 2018 Rogue has been engaging the AEB system with NO cars or pedestrians in front of the vehicle or in close enough proximity for that matter. Imagine driving 45-50 mph with traffic and your car automatically braking out of nowhere! Its scary shit. Thankfully God has been on my side and I havent been rear ended yet but I truly feel as if it is only a matter of time. This has happened numerous amounts of times this year and I have only had the car since February! I have been back and forth with the dealers and they can’t replicate the problem so they just send me on my way. They say Nissan is aware but arent really doing anything about it. Not sure what they are waiting for because plenty of people are having this issue with their 2018 Rogues according to complaints online. I opened a case with Nissan consumer affairs just to get the run around. I cant get anyone to return my calls and the issue is still going on. I dont even feel safe driving my BRAND NEW CAR. I have been so patient these past few months. But this is by far the worst experience of my life. Never going with Nissan again.

I got the 2020 Nissan Rogue for over a year and a half. I had noticed a couple months ago a couple of times in the same month my vehicle locked when I was backing out of my driveway for no apparent reason! No bad weather, no lines, no traffic, no one walking by. I had to put it in drive after it happened twice within minutes and it would still lock when I put it in reverse. I put it in drive went forward then put it in park. I turned it off and reversed it again and finally was able to drive it. Unfortunately somehow my brakes failed because I applied the brakes all the way down and my vehicle would not stop or slow down. It just kept going until I hit the car in front of me. As this was happening to me I'm thinking "why isn't my car stopping? I have a great driving record. No speeding tickets, no careless driving tickets, no DUI, nothing! I wound up in the hospital with a fractured sternum lots of pain. I want Nissan to explain to me why this happened to my vehicle. I read on one of the sites that this happened to a man and he said his car actually accelerated when he stepped on his brake pedal just like me. He was luckier than me. Maybe I should have turned the car off if that's even possible before the crash. Just thought it would stop! Now I'm going suffer the consequences because I leased it and put $4000 down because I wanted to buy it out at he end of the lease. Little did I know this would happen. I have to look for another vehicle to purchase or lease might look at another brand even though I've leased with Nissan for years! ANY answers??? Help??? Nissan???

Please refer to the image on page 5-58 of your Owner’s Manual here: owners.nissanusa.com/content/techpub/ManualsAndGuides/Altima/2018/2018-Altima-owner-manual.pdf. Please let us know if you need further support.

Several times while going over railroad tracks and once just driving down the road, the car started wildly beeping and came to a hard stop. Today when that happened, I was almost rear ended.

Hi, I just bought my Nissan Rogue Sport that come with AEB with pedestrian. I tried the Auto-Pilot. It is great safety feature. Love it. I can set up the distance and so on. But when it comes to the normal driving mode, how can I know if my car AEB work? Can it be set up the distance like the Auto-Pilot? If so, How? And other question is WIFI. I want to know how to find my Rogue WIFI (MAC) address to register with my router in order to connect to the internet. Can you please help? Thanks,

I have a 2018 Nissan Roque and I have to turn the sensor off when I'm in a parking garage because I never know when the system is going to stop the car. Just today coming home from work on a flat street with no one in front of me the car's system decided to almost stop the car in traffic. I called my Dealer to complain and all I really got was a service appointment which I will have to wait half the day for them to tell me there is nothing wrong. I will never ever own another Nissan.

Caused my son's death. No braking at all he at 55 to 63 went under a tractor trailer atonly red light for about 45 miles on a 4 lane. Witnesses said no brake lights at all went off. He had turned head and defensive wounds on hands, not 1 finger or thumb print for jewelry his brother wanted a dog tag. I know if he turned head and put up hands he would have stompped brakes he was a mma coach. Pitcher and short stop for over six years natural Instinct. Even if he didn't brake a 2021 loaded nissan altima should have. He came from a 94 Honda civic only 1 minor issue at 17. Forever 23 my beautiful boy. Don't trust this car. I bought a 2021 sentra later. Steering column,tire rod ends, computer went out at 1200 miles. Rear sonar a month after my son's death went out about slammed me and my 13 year old through dash. Windshield cracked from within and then camera was torn up when they replaced that. Now I have dew on inside of window on cold days. It melts for mildew to come. Oh and push start went out. I live 45 miles 1 way from dealership SO THEY WANT TO CHARGER ME .28 CENTS A MILE ON BY BACK. I lose about 5,000 to nissan they want me to give them 800 to take car back because of miles. Said I didn't have to pick dealership almost 100 miles away round trip. Who know I'd have to have it in shop that much and then dealership wants to prorated extended warranty. And the gap Insurance which is supposed to be about 3,300. I'm a single mom paying on a funeral and will have no money to put down on a new car. NISSAN DESTROYED MY LIFE. I WOULDNT OWN A FLEET IF THEY GAVE THEM TO ME. TENNESSEE LEMON LAWS SUCK. SO ME AND MY 13 YR OLD WILL HAVE TO WALK TO AND FROM WORK AND SCHOOL UNTIL I CAN AFFORD A DOWN PAYMENT. I WOULD SUGGEST IF YOU BUY A NISSAN THAT YOU HAVE MORE THEN $10,000 LIFE INSURANCE ON YOUR CHILD. IT CIST ALMOST 30,000 FOR FUNERAL

This is a crap function--the schematic shows the warning beginning many feet before the collision--mine works like this--3 feet before I might hit something I get the warning--and then I have never had any emergency braking applied--I try to test the system--but never get any emergency braking. The pedestrian warning doesn't work at all--nor does the rear warning---Nissan has terrible customer service. My new LEAF's intelligent cruise control went out after 2 weeks---It took over two weeks to fix---I actually took it to 2 dealers--the first dealer called me 6 weeks after I took it in saying that my sensor had come in----Can't wait until I can afford a TESLA

0:57 "Driver should monitor traffic conditions and brake as needed to prevent collisions" 1:17 "Keep in mind, this is a driver-assist technology. The driver should never rely on the system to brake FOR them." You DO KNOW that Tesla's technology is NO DIFFERENT, right? It's only Driver Assist. It's not ADAS-level-5. Nobody has that yet. We're going to need some pretty sophisticated AI routines as well as sensors that can see through all weather conditions before we have anything near even level 4, let alone the "autopilot" you imagine exists.

I have a 2021 Nissan Sentra with less than 2K miles on it. I've had to take it to the dealership once already because my battery kept draining dead 2x already in 5 months. I got a service notice about this issue and it's because the entertainment unit turns on mysteriously and drains the battery. Today, while driving home, my car scared the crap out of me on the highway going 45 when it decides it's going to warn me to break - there was no car ahead of me, or to the sides. I was able to avoid stopping by pressing the acelerator petal. got so freaked out, I turned off the front emergency breaking. Honestly, what the hell do I do? This makes me feel so unsafe, car stopping on a highway - thank God the car behind me was far enough and didn't rear end me. This is not funny.
