+[NoZa] xAtomic DID U SAY AN AUTOMATIC?
@original__gmebvy6 жыл бұрын
[NoZa] xAtomic it’s rare because there were very few of these made as an automatic. It has slightly less horsepower than the manual version but it’s more agile and chipper to drive around corners than the manual version. It was the inspiration for the next gen MR and GSR.
@zenkiev44867 жыл бұрын
It's actually 268 hp or 272 ps. Top end power just a bit lower from the GSR which is 280 ps. Mitsu did that so this Evo will be more responsive. Tried this car before, it's very fun! More comfy ride than the manual, more quieter, and breezes thru traffic. LOL. This is a limited prod. Evo dubbed "Gentleman's Express" by the Japanese. It was said that stock to stock, this Evo is faster than the Manual off the line! It's was also the inspiration for the Evo X MR. :)

Thanks for clarifying the performance figures from factory. Never knew about this being the inspiration for the Evo X

I like they remove almost everything that made it cool cosmetically and in the interior, to the point where it looks like a lancer Ralliart. A true sleeper it is.

The only game I know that has this exact car is Gran Turismo 4. It has this exact quick and butter smooth 5 speed automatic. It's really fun to use and slurr through the gears without loss of acceleration. It's similar to other smooth automatics in this game (Jaguar S-Type R/XKR R and Mercedes SL 500/55).

I believe these were called the 'Gentlemen's Express'! I can see why. It would be amazing to drive a stock one as a commuter car (providing you could afford the fuel bills)
@PerformanceCarsChannel8 жыл бұрын
Yes, fuel bills would be higher than a normal car I suppose as these engines are quite thirsty. Services aren't cheap either.

I dont think the AYC is working btw, that's why the 3 ACD lights are constantly on. But I can't see if the AYC light is always on either, if it isn't someone's taken the bulb out
@PerformanceCarsChannel7 жыл бұрын
Hey Jack, I think you are correct. I only noticed this when I was editing, I didn't think of it at the time of the filming. I have spoken to the owner and he confirms that the AYC wasn't working during the video. Well spotted 👍
@laznaldo5 жыл бұрын
@@PerformanceCarsChannel Not only AYC, the ACD is also not working... It seems like the pump has malfunctioned (standard evo issue) which is needed for both: ACD nad AYC. Basically you drove the car with open center and rear diffs.

@PerformanceCarsChannel8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment :) The auto box isn't too bad considering this car was manufactured some years ago. It's no where near as quick as a DSG box for example. I later found out that you can opt for the Recaro's when buying new so it was a choice the buyer made.
@original__gmebvy6 жыл бұрын
I would love to get one of these, but can’t because it has to be 25 years old to import into the US. I don’t even care that it’s an automatic. It wouldn’t be getting a manual swap either. I bet it’s fun to drive in it’s own way. No wonder the Japanese nicknamed the GT-A the “Gentleman’s Express”

Big thanks 😊 I know that the Mk5 Golf R32 is quite quick but I have yet to drive one. Do you like that car?
@K20TypeR7 жыл бұрын
PerformanceCars It's a car I was considering as it ticks a lot of boxes: I am a big JDM fan and love Japanese turbo monsters however currently drive a well specced Golf MK5 GT TDi and have begun to enjoy the build quality and refinement of the brand. The R32 sounds nice, is reasonably powerful, has all wheel drive (Haldex) and is a nice place to sit in. I know there's quicker Japanese cars out there but I do a lot of miles and they do lack the general interior build quality and refinement of German brands sadly.
