Mask tracking in adobe premiere pro is terrible. It does not work properly. Forces one to manually do it, which is a pain and super consuming. P.s. you won't save time as it will annoy you and then you'll go to manual in the end thus consuming more time.

I already knew this... I thought there was some other technique.. basically I was trying to track a bald patch on head so that it could be covered with hairs, I find no other means but to manually move the tracking... anyway great effort.. thanks!

Is there a way to select an irregular shape for mask tracking, sort of the equivalent of the crop lasso in photoshop? I need to chroma-out the background of a video for my employer and replace it with plan white but the background isn't a single color, so my plan is to mask-track myself (seated newscaster-style, so not an oval) and then invert the selection, and then overexpose the inverted mask until it washes all the way out to pure white.

Hi, I am a new subscriber to your channel and it looks like you teach well, with good details. I was looking around to see if new motion video tracking ai can actually perform a continuous generative fill on a subject that is not moving but the camera is. Video is spanning 15 seconds in length. I see in this tutorial that you can give the mask commands to track and lighten the gentleman's face. The object I am wanting to alter is a large tractor in a farmer's gravel pkg lot right next to his fields. It's drone footage from about 80 feet up. Can this be done with Premiere or Final Cut or DaVinci or ??? Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I'm masking an interview clip and it has to be tight to the body so that footage can go behind it. I tried using track mask path but it just doesn't follow the subject very well, and if possible I'd like to avoid having to do it manually because that's gonna take hours. do you have any suggestions

It doesn't work in Adobe Premiere Pro 2024. The progress bar stays stuck at 0%. I tried it several times. I gave up and left it running for an entire day. After 10 hours the progress bar was still at 0%. Edit: if clip speed is not 100% nothing happens, but if you set it to something other than 100% it does work. However I tried tracking a shadow and it didn't work.
