I do not think you would be able to sell the code. The code consist of 233 lines, which is about an hour of work, +/- 30 minutes (depends a lot on skills of the programmer). Maybe you would be able to sell this as an app (compiled code), but I know why carykh did not. *Many, many* programmers put lot of effort to make free (and hopefully open source) apps - it's because they want to help other people... (note: if he made this code/app paid, there would be 110% surely someone [possibly me] that would wrote the thing for free) - Look at what FOSS (free and open source software) is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_and_open-source_software - Also note: carykh makes most of his FOS code and these videos to educate other people (and if the code is OS, than they can actually educate) - so there you have this pointless comment (I'm so sorry for wasting your time, and I mean it) written in a slight annoyance (I am a big supporter of FOSS, [so be gone Mic**soft and Ap**e]) - Love GNU/Linux, and bye...

The idea of application and the distribution of that idea is what's he's given away for free-ish, since this video will generate revenue for him. So why sell an app which thousands of people can mimic, when you can use your skills as a potent content creator (edit: and your primary audience; us subscribers) and monetize on those through our watching of his videos on KZbin? Him making money just this exact way as is happening here might not be his first goal, but it does happen. Code monetized.

Oh my god the clip at 9:06! I remember looking at this video maybe 1-3 years ago (very hard to tell exact time) and remembering how I could barely understand what was being said. That clip has genuinely changed my life in terms of how I absorb media, since after that point I started to speed up videos more and more, until I got to the point where I am now, where I almost look at every youtube video at double speed. If the person is taöking especially slowly my zoomer brain thinks even that is too slow, and I crank the speed up to 2.5x, and on rare occations even 3x. It's weird to think how much such a small part of a youtube video changed my life.

To get the requirments i’ve found it easy by opening terminal then (ubuntu 18.04 lts) 1. sudo apt install python-pip 2. pip install Pillow 3. pip install scipy 4. pip install audiotsm 5. pip install numpy 6. pip install pytube (If this is something obvious let me know i’m new to ubuntu)
@zirconiumhacker49495 жыл бұрын
You can install all of the packages in one command: pip install Pillow scipy audiotsm numpy pytube And what do you mean by new to Ubuntu? This is Python, it runs on any operating system.

@@forrequu apt is _the_ way to install software on Debian and its derivatives (including Ubuntu and Linux Mint). pip is the official Python package installer.
@nibblrrr71245 жыл бұрын
@@forrequu It's usually best to try to find the required packages in the Ubuntu repos, or use *pip install --user ...* (which will install to _~/.local/_ in your home directory).¹ Whatever you do, never use *sudo pip ...* - It will make a mess in _/lib/_ that will stay unless you clean it up manually, b/c the system package manager (apt) doesn't know about it. (Everything in _/bin_, _/lib_ & _/usr_ (except _/usr/local/_ ) should be managed by the system package manager.) It's not a tragedy if it happens; but if you want to keep it clean & update properly, you'll have to find the files that apt doesn't know about & uninstall them with pip, or delete them. ¹ (Ideally the developer of the Python app writes it to use a virtual environment that installs everything to its own folder; but often they don't.)
