thanks so much. i scored the same feeder from someone for free and they didnt figure out how to use it. so their loss is my gain i hope. now to setting it up for my catmate lol

It's a good feeder. Just make sure if you are going away for a few days that you check the batteries if they are old so your cat doesn't get hungry if they happen to go flat.

the LCD screen is hard to see unless up on a table, light shining on it. and I have 20/20 vision and great night vision. just some feedback

sorry I don't get why the feed times are all set to 6pm? are you feeding the animal once a day?

Yes, at 6 am for breakfast. Dry food in the morning and wet/tinned food for dinner. That way the cat can eat at 6 am and I can sleep in.

How long does the tray stay open?

After it is open it stays open. So it starts off closed, then moves to the first slot for the cat to eat. It stays open and when the timer is up, moves to the next section, which also stays open.

Thanks for video! Can anyone tell me how long it lasts on batteries please? I'm going away in few days and want to spend until then, knowing that my cat is ok to eat out of it, I'm worried they will run out while I'm away.

You can only load it up with the set amount of meals. I think it's 8 from memory. But your batteries should last a long time, much longer than the 8 meals. Just check the screen when you refill the meals to make sure the low battery indicator isn't on.

so I have mine like this 1 2pm, 2 1am, 3 11pm, 4 1am, 5 8pm, 6 1am. should this work? because it doesn't. I am finding it hard

You'll probably need to follow the instructions again carefully. I suggest you do a test with 1 minute intervals so that you can see that it is working, before relying on it to feed your pet, to make sure it works. Then change the times and set it up again. Hope that helps.

Can anyone tell me how to fix/replace battery for the display screen? I have opened it, and found a very small loose battery inside, but don’t know where it came from 😬

I have to admit I haven't mastered it yet. But you should make sure the am/pm setting is correct. Also, after you set "start now", it serves the portions in their order: 1st, then 2nd etc, regardless of the hours you set for each.

Anyone knows how to set it if you want to give less than 6 portions per day?

I don't believe you can set this to feed a cat or dog twice in one day. I think that you have to use one compartment tray once a day at your chosen time. I was going to use mine to give a feeding and then in the evening time use it so that my cat lucky could be served cat treats. But I think it's best to give him one serving per day, and hand feed him desserts while I eat my ice cream.
