I know?! Right? I thought it was like a mini refrigerator that had a mini compressor that generated coldness. Seems like you can only have wet food the first day and the rest would have to be dry food that won’t spoil. We just got our’s and it’s going back.

I just received mine for my diet needing cats! Thanks for the video, this helps! As a note: The trays are not stainless though, couldn't find any auto feeders with stainless. The trays are food grade plastic, per the owner's manual.

how would you like the idea of a machine that grinds freeze dried food, and add water automatically? just like a coffee machine, so we can be freed from the manual work of doing wet food.

THAT sounds amazing, however you'd need to incorporate the refrigeration mechanism as well as way to release and seal that mechanism, which sounds extremely expensive.

It’s hard to know if it goes clockwise or counterclockwise without trying it. The company says nothing about it either way, so you have to figure it out through trial and error, which is annoying when you only use now now and again and you forget how it worked the last time. This product is not as user friendly as it could be.

Are you still using this device? I'm thinking of getting the version that connects to wifi/an app for a 1.5 day trip. How long do the ice packs stay frozen? I'm wondering if freezing the food combined w/ the ice packs will last even just 24 hrs.

You can't keep the ice packs more frozen than it takes them to thaw out unfortunately, they'll melt slower than ice because theyre in thick plastic but they will melt according to your room temperature. The app in my opinion is useless when u already set your schedule on the device, but it is a cool thing to double check i suppose. I've noticed that my cat does't even eat the full amount before it moves onto the next one sometimes also.

Wet food in a can isn't cold, if the compartments are sealed they should be fine.

its not about being cold or not, its vacuum sealed so temperature doesnt rot the food, exposing it outside of the can will rot it, ice is there to slow it down, thats why it says refrigerate after opening on packages sometimes.

the ice pack lasts maybe 12 hours, id say maybe u have 17 hours of cool freshness after that maybe another day before food isnt as good or dry
