Hi, happy Minimoog owner here also, ser#5807 from 1974 (light wood grain). The original Mini sounds simply gorgeous and everything on it is quality, the oscillators, filter, envelopes, to the knobs/switches and wood cabinet. I know some dismiss it as a basic synth, but the sound quality sure makes up for it´s simplicity. I like to use Osc3 as an audio modulator which really expands the tonal possibilities.

Great vid. Cannot agree more when it comes to all things not necessarily being equal when it comes to oscillators. Looking forward to the rest of this series.

On low for two oscillators. When play I like to make a twang by flipping osc down (or up). This makes pleasant and interesting embellishments even if you don’t use frequency. Also playing with right hand while tweaking lots of knobs and switches with left is phunn 😊 flipping ranges on a fly while 2 or 3 osc slightly tuned and/or have different changing tone subtly lead to interesting changes throughout the song parts. It’s great Moog left it up to your interpretation instead of “no you’re not suppose to do this or that”. I never thought of using MiniMoog as metronome 😂 brill!

Did you consider opening up the case and showing the waveforms on a scope? Say in the mixer vs the output from the filter vs the output from the VCA .

That is a great idea!
