the first time i witnessed the darkness mechanic within darkflame in heroic mode back at the start of the expansion, i immediately thought that this was going to be a nightmare in m+. they need to fix it

What's nightmarish about it? Just follow the cart and kill shit while someone grabs candle. There's nothing to it, stop trying to look at it like a puzzle to solve, it's just a pack on track there's no cheating around it. We've seen WAY WORSE in M+ before, people are overreacting big time.

Then double the range of it. We all know this will become a healer job or lowest dps job for any key group with a brain or high ego. So either they need to not take much damage so healer can do it, or give wiggle room for people to be able to actually output damage. The mechanic would be bad enough if you didn't have to fill the light gauge up. But with that added on top of it, it makes it a terrible designed mechanic since the cart keeps moving even if you don't want it to, and the only way to stop it moving is to let the light run out.. It certainly will be a Melee DPS focused dungeon since most range can't move and dps.

Big tip for Darkflame cleft that you really NEED to know: you can just pick up and hold a candle for 20 seconds. You become a source of light. Once it's almost gone deliver it to the cart for max effect. A tank can just grab a candle and run around with no debuff. The cart is not the only way!

cleft can be fixed with one simple thing , increase the candle light radius by 100% , the small little area you need to be stack at is crazy to me , blizzard tend to forget that there is puging in the game , where coordination is very rare to non existent.

@@kristoffer3000 It really ruins tanks like pally and DK though. Since they need their circle (DnD and Conc) to tank since its one of their better DR's. So the movement due to how much they drop conc down really impacts both the melee DPS and those two tanks heavily. Meaning you will be looking for one of the other 3 tanks over those two tanks plus reducing how many melee dps you bring to this dungeon unless you hate your healer.

I think the hardest and best dungeon is going to be Priory, it's well designed overall and will have some great routing options, even if it's a bit rough on melee. Darkflame and Theatre of Pain on the other hand... Those are going to be rough. I have a very big concern that those are going to be dead keys if there isn't MAJOR tuning inbound for them. I think that this pool feels a little weak in terms of what they could have done, but I'm hoping they surprise us and put out some banger tuning.

Darkflame Cleft will be like Siege of Boralus or Necrotic Wake in the pug world. Tanks and Healers won't queue for it, because they have free choice and therefore will choose the more pleasant dungeons. Solo dps players who receive a Darkflame Cleft key will be screwed for the week, waiting for hours for tanks and healers to apply for their key.

my Thoughts: Workshop: Didn't play SL S4 and did Workshop once or twice in BFA....dont even remember Brawlhala boss but the rest of it I mostly liked (except the bit with the catwalk after Dog) Motherlode: Did it once in BFA, dont recall anything about it, kinda excited to try it Floodgate: TBD Theatre: Possibly my fave Shadowlands dungeon so I am excited to do it again Priory: I like this dungeon a lot from my Normal/Heroic runs....except Consecration Cinderbrew: They need to nerf the AoE slow Rookery: Cool AF, though I think we will need to clear almost all the trash in the first boss room since the Beam attack seems kinda random on where it starts and how it rorates Darkflame: How high do I need to time the other keys for KSM/KSH to never step foot in here?

Hey Jak, on the top of my "worries" list is without a doubt Darkflame Cleft. As soon as I saw this dungeon I feared the season it would enter Mythic+. I hope Blizzard does some smart tuning to it to where it doesn't feel bad. On the positive side, I'm excited to return to Theater of Pain and Motherlode! Although I started my WoW journeyh mid-way BFA so that might just be my early experiences that were really good. I indeed think that Priory will be incredibly fun!! Looking forward to run that one. Now that I think of it, Hallowfall wasn't only great as a zone, but also with the dungeons it provides! :D I hope that M+ feels a bit better again next season because overall I haven't been... enjoying Mythic+ as much personally (PUG Healing)

I really hope Blizzard adds some clear graphical lines to Priory's consecrates and Dark Flame Cleft's Darkness. the floor damage is really obscene from the consecrates and you need to move them a ton, so I hope we get some better indicator graphics. And the darkness debuff causes you to do 0 throughput. If you are a presevoker and you are casting a big spiritbloomto heal your party...the cart could move out from under you and it would delete all the healing entirely. If you are a DK tank and you happen to Death Strike the milisecond that darkness effects you, you get 0 healing and die. We've had plenty of moving circles with silence or massive damage penalties. but this one is really small, moving and has unclear edges. I would expect some significant changes to go out on the old dungeons though. My biggest fear tbh. is that they will add back in the Hard Mode bomb disarming mechanic into last boss of Workshop. making is ruinous for PUGs. Atleast those tornado boys in Theater of Pain will be happy.

@@onkek You sound sarcastic, but in Shadowlands there were literally nothing to heal. DPS was the only real factor when it came to the healer meta. Tyranical just ment longer of the fun parts of the dungeon and what already 1-shot people, just did so a little better and didn't matter to the healer. ToP had 5 very different bosses that you learn and very little of the "big pull random 1-shot" BS that healers hated.

For Darkflame, the mine cart escort tip: Have one ranged take the far candle and your tank get the close one. The ranged can hold that candle for 13s and do full DPS at any range while he has a candle. Mobs don't have to be in the candle light. He can drop it off 1-2s before it expires then go grab another and repeat.

I like healing that is tied to mechanics (juggling bombs/debuffs/manual soaks/life-links/tanking mechanics so it does reduce group damage etc.) and then healing becomes meaningful. Just saying "we need more rot damage bosses" is a bit unspecific. Other then that I don't wanna play priest next season. Diseases in ToP, mind control in workshop .... I'm scared that priest becomes mandatory again in high keys to run priest.

I think overall, season 2 dungeons are a step up from season 1. Specifically, the 4 TWW dungeons are better. Theatre of Pain and Workshop won't be nearly as bad as people remember since we don't have affixes like Quaking, Sanguine, Bolstering, etc. If they fix Darkflame Cleft darkness area, I think we are in for a stellar season.

IMO they need to do a better job designing healer talents so that we can customize our builds for the challenges of each dungeon. Too much of one build to rule them all. And too much of a dungeon being free for one spec and a nightmare for another spec. Every spec should have more effective ways to talent into or out of rot, burst, ST, group, preventive (DR/shields), and DPS. And if they insist on these bolts one shotting people, they should make it more of a gameplay event like when a cleaver is thrown in NW. Make them not interruptible and make them clearly telegraphed so the target can defensive it or someone else can toss them an external. The whole interrupt / stun facet of the game needs an overhaul. In Wildstar, mobs had interrupt armor, meaning you might need 5 interrupts on one mob to stop its priority cast. And you could talent into having more interrupts (at the cost of throughput). So it was more of a distinct event, not some constant chaotic thing.

Honestly my biggest hope is they fix stops in m+, its part of why this season was so miserable and unfriendly to pugs. I'd also like to see some scaling changes. I'm expecting darkflame cleft to receive changes to work better in m+ and priory is probably going to be the best dungeon of the season unless they knock it out of the park with operation floodgate.

I’ve said this in a few comment sections. But don’t concern or worry about the candle section of dark flame unless it’s not changed by like 3 days out from m+ S2 release. Say what you will about blizzard, but they are people with access to the internet. They know the sentiment. They also knew the sentiment around BH and they gave it the m+ rework treatment and it was largely a very good dungeon. DFC has a chance to be really good, don’t doom so much and stress yourselves out. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m not making myself miserable thinking about it

@@popojaga7312 The problem is, that this dungeon has LOTS of stuff that hits hard and needs either hard stops or is not even stopable at all. So i doubt that Pugs will be doing big pulls. I already wipe on Heroic (having 631...), if people decide to pull the first room or whole wings. Cause no matter the gear, you cant do shit if you are stunned or slowed and stand in shit yourself. I did a lot of Heroics at Launch, Priory and Meadery felt the worst of all of them in terms of tuning for Trash and Bosses, besides of that Darkness boss.

Darkflame Cleft: the darkness mechanic is miserable. I just don't find these types of cheesy mechanics to be fun at all. It could be a decent dungeon if they get rid of or severely nerf the darkness mechanic. Cinderbrew Meadery: too many massive slows and I think the boss with adds that give him a shield will be awful in pugs. Routing seems like it will be chill. Rookery: should be great. Priory: should be great other than too many casters. Hard to predict because we only ran it on heroic which was not threatening. Theater of Pain: horrible dungeon other than the theme Mechagon Workshop: never did that part of the megadungeon but it seems like it could be fun. Motherlode: good dungeon overall, some minor changes to some bosses and trash would help a lot Floodgate: TBD I did not find TWW S1 to be very fun, so I am on the fence as to whether I will resub for S2. I can see Darkflame, Cinderbrew, and Theater all being hard avoid dungeons, which for me would be a hard pass for the season.

Yeah even with 4 okay dungeons this season is already looking cooked if you ask me. This season already had 2 dungeons which were a pain in the butt, certainly as a healer with Ara Kara and City of Threads. These upcoming ones seem incredibly annoying and overly mechanic based in the trash yet again which is also another red X mark for these dungeons. Anything added to a dungeons complexity adds more reasons people can give to brick a key by leaving and that just again sounds ultra painful. This might be the first season since season 3 SL i just don't heal or do any dungeons for an entire season. I might just raid log next season with the horrible dungeons and horrible new looting system for dungeons.

Workshop is a really cool dungeon but dear god please cut the first phase of the last boss. The fight got to the 6-7 minute mark at high keys last time it was in m+. Tyran has been nerfed since then but still, a 4-5 minute fight on a weekly key is criminal.

The S2 dungeon set really makes me think I will be raiding only. DFC, Mechagon workshop, Motherlode and Theater of Pain. No thanks. I don't want to have to deal with those shit shows again.
