As a healer that has played everything but pala in DF, I mostly agree with the list. From a pure M+ 2.8-3k PoV I'd rank them as: 1) hPriest - Straight up easy and very low skill ceiling. Can struggle with AoE, but as long as your party arent full glass cannons its fine. Hardest part is having very little control over CC and interrupts. 2) Disc - Mechanically very easy in a 5-man setting imo, just Radiance and Atonement heal. Hardest part of Disc is avoidable dmg/spot healing as it'll severely cut into Atonement uptime and hurt your healing on the rest of the party. Knowing timers a little bit is useful, but unlike rDruid its like 2 GCD's to start ramping so you can play it reactively up to a point. 3) Shaman - Easy and mostly reactive healer like hPriest, but much higher skill ceiling with all the cooldowns and utility. Better balance of spothealing/AoE healing than hPrierst. If you're a good rShaman, I'd argue its the easiest healer cause of the impact you can have on mob control unlike priest. Great CD's , but not reliant on those windows either. 4) Monk - Very middle ground but also very versatile with a high skill ceiling. Can struggle with spothealing without Cocoon as Vivify feels like the most lackluster heal without Enveloping Mist and/or Chi harmony on the target. If rest of party is topped off, Ancient Healings is a great spotheal though. Will say that intuition is important for this healer, knowing when to rely on Ancient Teachings and when not to. Can go from easy vibes 5th dps to oh shit where are my CD's fairly quickly, but your toolkit is amazing. 5) Druid - Most important to know timings and constantly prepare for whats to come. Heaviest on the GCD usage by far. Used to struggle more than Monk in unexpected spothealing without clearcasts, but its gotten better in pre-patch. Mix in catweaving and you are literally playing 2 roles tracking hots/dots, timings, using CC. Once your hots are up though, you feel like a god. 6) Evoker - By far the hardest due to limited range and your healing output being very dependant on others' positioning. Also struggles somewhat like Disc where your Echo ramping can get needlesly ruined by a single person, leaving the rest of the party in higher danger. Verdant Embrace is the biggest spothealing trap ime, felt like a 20% of dying along with the person I was trying to save. In one of those rare coordinated groups, its prob equal difficulty to Monk. Would NOT recommend in pugs though, you'll just make your life miserable lol.

I've pugged with all of these healers. Some of the footage is with people I've played with before but all my conclusions are based on pugging/uncoordinated teams

@@AutomaticJak Fair enough, but watching the video, it did all seem very coordinated/pre-made gameplay, and not PUG style gameplay. It's been my personal experience that the healing classes play a lot differently when you're constantly having to save people who are standing in the red, because they're just watching their DPS meters, etc. I would think the tier list would be somewhat different, based on what circumstance healing is being done in. But at the end of the day, reactive healing is easier than proactive healing, that is true, as your list reflects.

Maybe I am just bad, but i found prez by far the most challenging of any healer. Limited range+all of the targeted spells(orb,breath,blossom)+constant repositioning just makes healing EXTREMELY inconsistent. Not to mention complete lack of any sort of consistent rotation. The only healer that i didn’t even attempt to do more than weekly +10s in df. And somehow in raid its even worse. I like the spec a lot, its really fun and unique, but it reminds me of havoc a lot. Is it a fun spec i play every season? Hell yes. Am i ever going to do anything else aside from weeklies? Hell nah.

I kinda think resto Druid has some game play styles that aren’t so difficult for not the highest end content. Someone looking for a easier healer isn’t playing high level content most likely also. But if you play a range resto Druid hugging the right hand side of class tree with no kitty weaving. And having a passive dmg profile with sunfire and moonfire from keeper of the grove. And spam starfall or wrath in aoe on single target. Resto Druid has much less button bloat and much better mana economy compared to something like resto shaman. Pros and cons to easy and hard for all specs (depending on playstyle)

One of my biggest Preservation Evoker problems is always that the group should stay stacked to fully benefit if his heals. So many of his abilities can be nearly useless if the group stays spread (for example his healing breath). The second boss in NO during Dragonflight was always a nightmare as preservation.

I agree, my resto shaman & holy priest are easy to play & I can push up health bars very quickly. My pres, mw, & holy pala took longer to learn & are harder because I had to dodge melee mechanics. They should change Resto Druid to focus on HoT durations. Talent Regrowth heals to shorten all HoT durations maybe 30/60/90% for 10 seconds. Swiftmend would have to be more powerful, maybe reduce all HoT by 100% for 5 seconds. Would apply to HoTs currently applied and future HoTs applied in the timeframe.

i kind of think pres evoker is the hardest. the stasis gameplay where you can fuck up with something shitty but the positioning and the range is like playing on hard mode AND you are a fair bit fragile outside of def. i dont really find rdrood very difficult. probably on par with mistweaver but without the the risk of being in melee the. TWW just remember me of the 'old' drood playstyle where playing with your hots is actually the 'true' drood gameplay

Love the Thumbnail! I started my main healer in DF as a disc priest. Talk about trying to master one of the harder ones when I am new to healing. 😂 After that I tried Holy and yes it is the easiest spec. I found that I wanted more of a challenge so I tried resto shaman. Then in remix I tried Mistweaver and Druid. I have not tired Pres Evoker yet (I am wary of it 🙃). I'd say I like R Shaman the most out of the lot. Yes it is easy to grasp the basics but does have a ladder to climb. I found Dragonflight perfect for this since it gave affixes like Afflicted, Entangling and Incorporeal which allowed me to change talents to suit the needs in M+. Keep these videos coming. :D

To avoid having to spam flash heal I advice Lightweaver. It's both simple and powerful talent that makes your "heal" ability have almost the same casting time as flash heal, but do 80% more healing and costing 30% less mana.

@@Darckpopo39 I think Rsham, druid, and Disc probably have the highest ceilings imo. Sham has a low floor which can make it deceiving but it has so many potential tools that most healers just can't bring. If you go from Disc to Sham, the difference in your ability to shut down mobs in a dungeon and help you group is massive. I think disc is difficult and has a high skill floor. If you can keep your group alive in dungeons you are probably already proficient. The only real place to go is perfecting your timings for damage profiles. I also think Pres was pretty hard to break into, it has massive power but the range can catch you off guard and so many of their tools have sort of a cd rotation and if you are caught out without tools left, you most likely blew the wrong cd at the wrong time and going to wipe. But that's another where the floor is just a little higher but once you get into flow its pretty reasonable.

@@Darckpopo39 it has the lowest floor. Which is deceiving. But almost the highest ceiling. It has so so much utility. Cap totem, poison cleanse totem, earth grab totem, earth ele, wind rush, 12 sec ranged kick, lust. And that’s just to name a few. There is a huge skill gap on a normal resto sham and a great one. It’s also the only healer currently that has mana issues. Any of the other. You can hit all your buttons the entire time. But on r sham you can actually go oom, so that’s another skill gap area.

As a long time healer, I think resto druid tree has always been easy. Sure lots of actions and the nature of dots but to me very easy. The thing is I don’t care about melee dmg as a tree. Sure ranged dmg but idc how potentially good kitty weaving is. It’s a niche thing and imo doesn’t affect seeing the resto Druid as easy. Again I see your point but this feels like it’s directed at the top 5% of the players. Ya know the ones that are top players, the ones that think they are top players. Those that just follow streamers and content creators also fall in here but many of those just opt for the easier options. Anyways great vid. As a long time holy priest I agree they are the easiest and disc the hardest. Again the difficulty starts showing up when dps becomes part of the HEALER’S job. Sigh.

If the group doesn't take avoidable damage and uses their cooldown it's not too hard. Hardest part comes when pugs take unnecesaary damage and you're out of cooldowns. Also the key difficulty is a big issue. On lower keys (up to 8 no bog fuss but higher) I often felt like I simply couldn't top my group in time.

I know its a bad talking point in the Disc discord, but I really wish atonement lasted about 5secons longer than what it does. Base Atonement lasting 15sec is just not good, especially in raiding, you build up, get 15 people in about 4-5 globals, and now your first set of atonements are down to 10 or less seconds, so you Evangilism just to bring them back up to their base time, and now you are ready to go. in that same amount of time other healers are already able to react to the damage coming in OR they have less setup time and you are still sitting there like "man I just wasted all this" With that though, I LOVE disc for farming raids, where theres only like 2 healers its a blast, progression, I know they are nice but I feel kind of useless in them outside of certain situations

kinda confused. If this is targeted at entry level - I would argue that every healer besides evoker and disc is super easy to get into. If you look at really challenging content - no way shaman is the easiest. I had an idea about Disc that I posted on forums but no luck... How about making Atonement a Party-Wide only buff/aura? Still have Radiance and other spells to manually apply it onto others outside of party but this way Disc won't have to juggle with all the various CDs just to apply Atonement FIRST before start doing meaningful heals. Obviously, can tune the healing numbers, if required, based on these changes but it will be huge QoL improvement to avoid the worst part of being Disc, that is to apply Atonement first before do anything else.
