I hadn't heard of this game before. I saw your smelter setup guide and instantly got the game. I would really like to see more of these. One on Oil+Plastic would be perfect. So far, I get to that point and nuke my base with heat.

This design can be improved concerning number of auto-sweeper, conveyor loader and receptacle . I build farms side by side in formation of 4, 2 to each side. then build 1 auto-sweeper next to the ladders. Ladder section cant be 4 tiles, but 3 so auto-sweeper can reach critter feeder. Whole farm is wide 4 tiles - critter feeder, drop off and grooming station, flor will be replaced with mechanical doors that are on time sensor and open once every cycle to drop eggs on the lower level where you build automation for picking up eggs and rest of equipment. This way you can have a column of farms and every 4 farms will need only one auto-sweeper and conveyor receptacle.

I'm a little late to cemment. I like the idea, but if you want to automate the critter feeding you still need more auto sweepers right? I'm going to play around with your idea.

@@victorelfring the desing i am trying to explain uses 3 auto-sweepers per 4 farms, and if you go 8 farms it is 4 auto-sweepers. Much more eficient than 1 for every farm.

this both inspired and saddened me at the same time. i'm now inspired to do a similar set up for my hatch farms.. saddened because you did all this at 300+ cycles.. i'm now at my 950+ cycle and i've almost depleted my planet/asteroid's coal supply haha. part of me wants to start over to make a more balanced way of doing things.. part of me wants to continue and apply this automated coal thing. thanks for this guide liked and bookmarked

I have 105 hours in this so far and I STILL forget that you can drop infinite resources in one place rather than using storage and having things back up. Here I was sitting and wondering how I can use the same conveyor loaders for eggs and coal without worrying about the coal backing up all the way to the ranch. Now I feel silly.

@@harryc5595 sorry, didnt mean any offense. A streamer can do a playthrough on any game and entertain the viewers but cant do a tutorial if he/she isnt qualified. thats just my opinion. I cant give any advise on factorio to nilaus, i watch him to learn the game, but just a glimpse and i can see a few improvements to be made for a better tutorial.
