Nice that you're showing the registration plates of other vehicles in the yard just incase someone has had a vehicle stolen that hasn't been found yet.

I don't think they would be respraying stolen cars those are usually broken up into bits and shipped off abroad, stolen to commit further crime or just stolen to joyride to show off on social media. The police officers should have run all the vin numbers through to see if they were nicked.

@@ChrisX431 1 this could be considered entrapment , i do not know about UK law much except that their pretty strict. and 2 most shop owners can not pull this off without blowing it and 3 nothing beats actual persons picking up said things on camera which means the owner would have had to go along with the respray so the police could put the mitts on them after they take possession of it on video.

Surprised that the Police allowed the roller to be taken back. Here in the States, once it was confirmed that it was the stolen item, they would take a ton of pics, they might even hold the roller as evidence, then call the shop owner to come out, then arrest the shop owner. Meanwhile a team would come out and verify if any of the vehicles are listed stolen. But, I’m glad to see the roller returned.

Positive 1. The equipment was returned to the rightful owner 2. The address was clearly given so people can know stolen equipment may be at that business (without the owner "knowing" of course). 3. The registrations of other vehicles was shown I'm not for mob justice as the IQ of many groups is often less than the lowest single contributor, but if there is insufficient police funding it pays to have local knowledge before doing business. If a company loses business because they have been shown to handle stolen goods _without making sufficient attempts to avoid it_ then tough luck. I've taken a stolen used camera in while working for a camera store, first time the guy came in to trade I declined for insufficient ID / proof of ownership. The guy then came back with all the required personal address /ID details, stolen with the camera, from his landlord. This was before photo ID driving licenses so I had no way to know the details he gave first time, which tied up with the receipt and address bills were not him. Anyone can make a mistake but the Police were happy I had tried to avoid taking stolen goods, not sure that was exactly happened in this case but let the future behaviour be the proof not one _mistake_ .?
