Best way is a interrupter switch on one of the main control sytems, fuel pump, main power to ingnition harness, crank/cam angle sensor, etc. The trick is you need to be pretty decent at wiring, use stock style connectors, wire looms, and routing. Then put the micro switch somewhere that's not easy to get to or somewhere you have to reach into without being able to physically see it. Works wonders on the rigs I set up for people and so far I have not seen a thief intelligent enough to realise what the problem is and to easily restore power. Thief are only good at stealing shit, there not a very bright group when it comes dianostics, make something out of the ordinary to steal and they can't figure it out.

I have a rare TransAm. I have taken steps to insure it is not stolen as well.. Even so that has not stopped some from trying. Here is the kicker, I live 80 miles from the nearest major town or city in rural Wisconsin.. and still three car thieves thought they could get away with it apparently.. 2 German Shepherd Combat Bite trained K-9's and my Benelli M4 Tactical Semi Auto .12 gauge stopped them cold. What was even more funny is that when the Sheriff arrived that night at 0400 hours to take them off my hands, they tried to get me arrested for using a gun against one of them and sicing my dogs on the other two. My dogs woke me quietly, no noise that night.. As I geared up, I watched their every move on a handheld LED display for my security cameras around my property. That allowed me to setup and take them by surprise when I had the best position on them. Had they made entry into the garage, an alarm in my house would have notified me as well but the dogs woke me before they got a chance. Later we saw they had actually checked the pull shed, barn and workshop first, going to the detached garage next to the house last. When the dogs woke me, they were all near the main barn still and by the time I was ready, they had just started trying the doors and two windows of the garage for entry. Times have changed and thieves are getting bolder and bolder these days.. And the fact they will travel a long way to get something they want, is even more of a concern.. We even have thieves that come out this far and cut off all the copper cables for the major mile long irrigation rigs that are installed on numerous farmland fields etc.. Why so many countries like the UK and Australia have folded and given up all rights to defend yourself is beyond me.. but here in the USA, it is obvious why we will never give up that right.
@laurenclark93755 жыл бұрын
yeah sadly if we had done anything like what you describe to a thief we would be heading to jail that night, penalties for there type of crime are generally non existent, we'd get a much harsher sentence than the thief lol. In the Uk, the pension is funded by the younger generations. Your telling me that these people willingly decided not to save for their retirements, because they knew their kids would pick up the bill. If you think that’s well earned and well deserved, than you are delusional. They also paid into governments that they voted for. There used to be a story that the Ford Taurus had one of just thirty two(?) possible keys or something obscene like that. The idea being that the odds of someone having the twin key for your Taurus *and* ever realizing that fact were extremely poor due to the fact normal people don't go around testing their car keys in random cars. Of course it came to light when two people with identical keys and near identical looking cars parked in the same row of a Costco or something and drove home the wrong cars.

MTrack - Fantastic recovery system. Keep up the good work chaps. I find your videos very informative and entertaining. The scrotes will stop at nothing for their next hit. The only criticism is that I believe you don't entirely understand how a relay attack works in relation to the key functionality. Same with the comments on your BMW M2 a few months ago. The manufacturers are fighting back in the guise of motion detection keys. With these the key goes to sleep after a short period of inactivity. Will stop a relay attack when the keys are stationary. I have assisted in recovering a few RR's that have been "relayed" and a give away is that they are left insecure as once they are away from the owners key they have no method of locking again until a new key has been programmed. The thieves generally park the stolen vehicle up in a remote location and leave it for a few days to see if it has a tracking system fitted. Last thing they want is to take it back to their slaughter yard and lead the cops to them... "Wave 2" is our common enemy here. Not confined to Ford and the cars security system is not flawed. Any car with keyless entry/start can be compromised by this method of attack. (BMW / Audi / VW / Range Rover / Lexus etc..) The Wave 2 does not copy the key, it simply extends the range of the customers key so that the car thinks it is talking to the proper key. The Wave 2 does not keep a copy of the original key and once out of range of the customers house it is not possible to restart the car if it is stalled or turned off. Ideally if you have an older keyless type of car without the motion detection keys then as is said on the video a faraday pouch should be used to store your keys when not in use. Don't forget the spare ones as well!! Also make sure you get a good quality pouch as the cheep ones off of eBay wear out and become less / non effective once the keys have been in and out a few times. And yes putting your keys in the microwave is a good Faraday cage until someone turns it on and nukes your keys !!!!!

I've watched every one of these episodes with great interest. I'm convinced that the American model of LoJack is deeply flawed and that Automatics has a FAR superior service. In the US, LoJack has handed over recovery to Law Enforcement only . There is no independent recovery team that can act in the quick fashion that is needed. This is where Automatics has revolutionized customer service for this product. I would LOVE to see an equivalent product in the US. On-star and LoJack can not compete . In the US they have turned this into nothing but an insurance industry pay out.

good idea but in reality not so much car manus dont really like doing too much custom work so at best theyd have lets say 10 locations to choose from so straight off theives just need to check 10 locations then theres regional bias by some system you may discover certain regions only tend to have say 5 of the 10 locations on average so thats faster then you got dealerships who will fuck the whole thing up by only ever ordering cars with them in the same location cause its easier for them however... your onto the right track of thinking and if you were to do that yourself youd be onto a little bit of a winner but remember that depending on how you do the switch theives may just rip out the panels and hot wire

I wouldn't follow the Police's advice with a steering lock. Invest in a discklok. While they can still be broken into (if they know what they're doing) at least it will still be there if they don't. As proven, that stoplock is just terrible and can easily be bypassed in many ways. Customer should also invest in a Clifford 650 or at least a Thatcham approved alarm system. Though credit to Automatrics for hiding that tracker extremely well.

Besides a Tracker that may end up in recovering your stolen car, it's a prudent preventative measure to install a reputable after-market alarm system, that includes an ignition immobiliser. Also if you have a driveway, consider Investing in a lockable ground post, or an electronic smart bollard, restricting all access in and out of your driveway. Don't make your car easy to steal, manufacturers have done a good job of that already. This is my opinion, I could be wrong.

The job of the recovery team is to recover the customer vehicle as quickly as possible, without endangering themselves. They cannot act as vigilantes. Besides, in this particular situation the fella recovering the car was on his own and there were two thieves. Furthermore, the police took as much evidence as they could and that is going to aid them in possibly catching those responsible. Also, thieves will hold the car there until they are certain nobody is looking for it, that could take days. As seen in this video, officers have other places to be to deal with crimes more important besides a car theft where the vehicle has already been recovered.
