I've been driving since 1954 and I've owned several of the cars shown. My favorites were a 56 Ford Crown Vic and a 57 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer. Stylewise, nothing they put out today is even close.

I've been driving for the same number of years and one of my real favorites was my 1956 Ford Sunliner convertible. Light blue and white.

Back then you could see a car half mile away and you knew the make and model....today you can’t tell a two-hundred thousand dollar BMW from a thirty or forty-thousand dollar Korean offering..... that’s why I have my classics...memories.

Good for You Arden I was too young when my Dad sold our 1960 Pontiac Bonnie Mother and I were crazy about that car but he wanted a Ford pick up so bye bye to car hello to truck there went my big backseat but not my memories. We made a lot of them with 72 Explorer trunk was a limited edition and I still have it.😉🤩

We used to sit on our front lawn on our farm on the swing set as kids and hear cars or trucks come over the hill, speculating on how they sounded as to there make. Right most of time.

The 1950's Caddys & Fords, especially the Crown Vic, Fairlane 500 and Sunliners including the '49-'52 Mercs were some of the coolest Detroit metal.

This is absolutely one of the Best pix collections of great late 40's and 50's cars. I like the fact that early 50's greats are given their due, like the Hudson Hornet I(we had a 51 four door) and the Buick skylark. The Allard being included was good to see. These are wonderful memories I have as a kid of that era. Thank you for posting.

My 1st car was a 1949 ford club Coupe; 3-on-the-tree. We also had a 1959 Dodge Coronet and a 1937 Chevy 3/4 ton Pickup. Back then, cars were cars AND women were women. I loved it.

Awe, no VW? My parents had a 1951/2 VW with a split rear window and wig wag turn signals. VW drivers used to beep at each other on the road. Oh! My first car? A 1956 Ford 4 door sedan and #2 was a 1956 Ford 4 door hard top. Yes, Virginia they did make a few of those. The baby blue '57 Thunderbird was the best of the lot.
