I just finished applying the dye/sealer to a 2006 Saab 9-5 I purchased ( I am restoring it). They had some stains (pink...not sure how that happened) and a number of worn areas/cracking/scrapes, especially on the bolsters. I watched this video and ordered the product. I had them custom match my leather by sending in a little piece. They nailed the color.....spot on! The seats truly look AMAZING now. I am so impressed with the results. The seats look like NEW! It takes some time to perform each step and wait the appropriate time before moving on. You also need to make sure and spend time prepping/cleaning the seats properly first, but the results are so worth it! It was a lot of fun seeing the transformation.

I'm complaining about the cost of the leather cleaner and protector. $80.
@LeathertouchupdyeАй бұрын
Hello @AlexTechie our cleaning and protection kits have amazing value. This product can single-handedly make your Leather Furniture last indefinitely! The leather cleaner is an oil-free formulation that leaves no sticky residue and the protector is a real coating that makes cleaning easy and protects the leather against spillage and wear. Rather than spraying down the Leather with cleaner, which wastes the cleaner we recommend to spray the cleaner on the cloth and then wipe down your Leather Furniture. The only time you have to spray the cleaner directly onto the surface is if there is very heavy soil or patina that needs to be loosened up. Customers frequently purchase the cleaning and protection kit every 3 to 5 years to maintain their Leather Furniture like new! We also have a small cleaning and protection kit at a lower price point as well.. thank you for reaching out and for choosing LeatherTouchupDye.com

@@Leathertouchupdye If the cleaner and protector have enough for 3-5 years, that's actually not a bad deal. And, judging from the product instructions, it definitely seems like that's how long it should last. BTW, since you're replying to comments, I noticed your website sells conditioner, but your video criticizes conditioners. Why is that?

I sold automotive leather for almost thirty years through the late nineties to Ford, GM, and Chrysler. The surface color you see on the seat are not dyes but pigments with a clear top coat both of which were sprayed on during the finishing process. The pigments had superior UV resistance to dyes and the clear coat improves wear performance. The only dyes used are applied during the tanning process in vats. You are removing the clear coat and the pigments applied by the tannery which explains why the cloth is gray.

You can see the dye transfer to the sponge when he applied the protective top coat. Wonder how well the dye really works..
@Leathertouchupdye5 жыл бұрын
Hello Mike, our leather repair products are the highest quality water based technology. When applying the sealer you can re-wet the dyes and wipe the surface of the dyes leaving a little bit of color on the sponge. " This to totally NORMAL " and does not ruin or damage anything - NOR will anything come off on your clothes when the dyes are totally dried and cured. We like to show scenarios of what our customers will experience since most do not wait for the dyes to totally dry and cure before applying the sealer. It's all good - our leather repair products are the most forgiving and keep your success rate very high. Thank you for the great question and for choosing LeatherTouchupDye.com

My old '95 Acura Legend has a pretty bad chapped spot right where that mustang's seat has one-- on the driver's side seat side "bolster" that gets scraped every time I get in and out of the car. The rest of the seats are in good shape, judging on your comments about the older leather and how it will probably look. The leather they used in Acura for those years is thick, tasteful, but now it is getting quite stiff. The shiny-looking parts of the driver's seat, however, have managed to not be stiff as you described; it's actually the softest part of all the seats. I've used several; products on it as well, but mostly it's been sweated on through my clothes. I'm in Las Vegas, NV. so the car gets baked on occasion, even though at night it's in a garage. One part of the seem has come undone, and I don't feel like taking the whole seat off and having to deal with some power seat parts i don't understand. That is my luck-- "It's easy" says somebody who messes with their car all the time, but whenever I get into a job like that (whether it's the engine or a bumper screw and bolt...) it's NEVER as simple as they say. Back to the question (sorry)-- the chapped part of the driver's seat looks like it doesn't have the finished black leather at all. It's just a grey-blue soft, nappy surface about 1 inch wide by 3 inches tall. Do I just apply the dye or is it non-reparable?
