In this video we show you how to diagnose a rear collision error. We also show you how to replace a broken rear joystick sensor. This is a repair that can easily be done at home if you know what to look for. This means you can purchase the part from your local dealer and get your mower back up and mowing with very little down time. As you will see in the video, replacing a broken rear joystick does not require splitting the mower's chassis open. This is important because if you split the mower open you will void the mower's warranty.

Which is easier and cheaper? Put boundary wire around trees and poles to prevent constant collision? Or just change these sensors occassionally? Are the sensors pretty tough or vulnerable to banging into objects, especially when going downhill?? Many thanks! You are THE authority on the Automowers and a great help to many!! I enjoy your presentations. Thanks for taking the time! PS Why not give your first name on the videos or your channel since we all think of you as our personal trainer on Automower?

The current generation of Automowers (310, 315, 315X, 430X, 430XH, 450X, 450XH, 550, etc) are designed to bump into posts, trees, walls, and other solid objects and hold up. The generations before would end up with broken or cracked body parts from constant collisions. Rear collision sensors hold up pretty well and there isn't a whole lot to go wrong with them under normal conditions. If one is broken then more then likely it was from too much weight being placed on it, the mower was ran over by something bigger, the mower was jammed under something, or some other kind of abnormal collision. Thanks for the compliments and great feedback! Most of the videos on this channel are contributed to by more than just one person in some way another so it wouldn't be fair for one person to get all the credit just because they do the talking.

Dear Eschelmania TV, you guys are the greatest! After studying this video a second time it would appear that one could probably expect eventually to have to replace at least one of the joysticks. Since it is only 4 screws and you have shown the way then maybe for the DIY guy or gal it would be a time saver to keep one as a spare part in our tool kit? Or would it be rare in a late vintage 315 to need one? I have searched all over the internet and found only a couple of sources for parts online. What is your recommendation for online parts or other sources of parts? Lowes doesn't show any parts for them even though they sell them. Most of the parts stores online I found are in Europe. Interestingly, I thought I heard the Automowers were all made in South Carolina, but I bought my second 315 and the box said "Made in England." Thanks again for all the help. And one final question if you don't mind. Why can't I find a US based Automower forum? I found one in France and a robot forum in Germany, and they kicked me out for some reason. :( It would be great to share more with other Automower enthusiasts if indeed there are enough for a group in the US.

If you're looking to order parts just send us an email to Automowerinfo@Gmail.com and we can get you hooked up. Lowes is just a retailer and doesn't even stock Automowers. You can pay for one there, but the mower is shipped to a dealer and they deliver it and install it for you. All included in the price. All Automowers are made at Husqvarna's factory in the United Kingdom. It was actually one of their old sewing machine factories I believe. There are a few groups on Facebook for Automower owners. Not sure about Reddit or any of those places.

Hey man, thanks for the great series of videos on the automower. I have a question: My 315 is giving me the dreaded "collision sensor problem", where it acts like it's trapped in an invisible box for a while and then shuts down. the front joystick, which is my number one suspect at the moment, is attached by a rubber boot I didn't force off. How should I proceed?

Start by making sure that the magnet is still in the holder in the upper cover. Here's a video we did a few years ago that explains it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2GsmaBmYqqZhpI

I am a certified installation technician for Husqvarna, and i did not know that one of the posts were a dummy. i have spent like 2 hours running around my yard looking for a tiny magnet and sensor board thinking that i must've dropped it.
