The primary value of the 550 over the 450 is the Fleet Services and app and hyper accurate gps. The major difference - if you have a power outage, instead of having to send someone to your home, you can restart the mower remotely through Fleet Services - not possible on the 450 series which you have to do it through the keypad, or locally connected app. Also allows you to manage multiple 550's so if you have a property with 3 acres, you will likely be better off with a few 550s, especially because you can remotely manage them and they can optimize between themselves on how to get the property done. GPS is so good on the 550 series you can define the boundries via the app instead of burying boundry wire and it will still work properly. Seems like you were only comparing them without even talking about the primary value and reason for the 550. Otherwise, love your videos - Husqvarna should be paying you because you are doing a much better job explaining boundry wires/ guide wires, etc... than anything they've ever put out

Quite underwhelmed, no mention of setup, peripheral wire or GPS? or the EPOS difference? or fleet service? Lot of talk, little info.

I ordered a 500 series mower, which will be here next week. With a new mower, where do you find the initial pin code?
@hakannorberg45053 жыл бұрын
The 500series comes with Husqvarna Fleet Services included, is that something you have tried?

Haven't really needed to use it. We're just used to using Automower Connect for everything.

I knew the things you can read in the specs but I had assumed you could just start it by pressing the button. That it worked like a stop and start. Having to go out and enter the pin via the app seems really cumbersome. In to the specs. The 535 have support for 3 guide wires so that's a difference if over really needs 3 guides and AWD. The 520 is the mixed up one - battery like a 420, guides like the 440 (3 guides) and GPS cutting like X models (also present on other 500's but their 400 counterpart also have it).

Yeah we're not going to get into the 520 yet since it's not technically available here in North America......yet. And it sounds like the 520 we will be getting here in 2021 might be a little different from the 520 that already exists in Europe. We'll get more into that in the spring of 2021.

I'd love to see a video of the step-by-step process of connecting the 500 series to both fleet services and the connect app without having to rely on Bluetooth. we have a fleet of around 200 bots and we wanted to try to switch over to the 500 series but pairing these doesn't seem to be as initiative as the 400 series seemed to be. Any bit of help is always apriatiated.
@EshlemaniaTV2 жыл бұрын
The initial pairing HAS to be done via Bluetooth for both Automower Connect and Fleet Services on the 500 series and 435X mowers.

@@EshlemaniaTV yah we’ve managed to get them on the app, now it’s a matter of getting them on the cloud to monitor our fleet from anywhere. Always seems to get stuck at 15% pairing even after waiting an hour. Lol the struggle has been real. Thanks for all the help you continue to provide!

I just want the 420 model to be available in North America. The 520 exists, the 415 and 435 exist, but not the 420...

The mowers in X-line and 500-series use the cellular network instead of Bluetooth so you van restart from distance and don't need to have a friend install the app and swing by.
@EshlemaniaTV3 жыл бұрын
No, you can not restart the 400 series or 500 series (Non AWD) from a distance using the app. You have to enter the PIN on the 400 series mower itself before it can be restarted. And the 500 series you also need to flip the switch to STOP and then back to run before it will restart if there is an error. There are select errors that you can clear on a 435X or 535AWD via the app and restart the mower remotely. But again, even that is very limited to errors like No Power In Charging Station and other errors that wouldn't pose a risk of bodily harm, property damage, or sever damage to the mower.

It's amazing to see how little control board and simple the internal system is. What's the actual justification for these devices to be so expensive. Looking at the 2 years warranty it's kind of a joke. When I look at how many years it took to start seeing the AWD (swing arm model) what were the engineers doing? Man I am glad that overall the world's technology has evolved 10 times faster than these. Yet these auto mower have a lot less engineering R&D than a DJI drone but these mower cost 4-5K. I can hire my neighbor's kids pay them 10-20$ to cut the grass for a few years before it would become more expensive for me to buy an automower.
@alexzoghlin90833 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, making it simple and very reliable is a much harder engineering problem. Your DJI consumer drone doesn't live outside, nor does it fly 7 hours a day. DJI sells a commercial drone with those specs (M600 Pro) which is 8k fully loaded.

I disagree, as a homeowner the main thing that has kept me from buying an automower is because of the ridiculous boundary wire requirement, when robot vacuums haven't needed this in over a decade. The 500 series doesn't need it finally with EPOS.
@EshlemaniaTV2 жыл бұрын
Robot vacuums are working indoors where they have boundaries. The EPOS mowers are not residential solution at this point. Hopefully in a year or two they will advance enough to be.

@@EshlemaniaTV The technology is there, it's been there for over a decade it's called LIDAR, these companies are to incompetent to use it, and only make it more complex trying to use GPS based.
