Excellent repair info. Today I was leaving the store went to roll my window down went down but it refused to go back up. By the time I got home I decided to bang on the window switch area. It started to go up but I had to keep banging on the Driver Side switch area 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8 Manual.

Thanks for the vid. My buddy's window switch failed on his Cruze last night. The driver window was half down and it was a 25 degree Fahrenheit night in Michigan and he is a delivery driver. I ended up hot wiring the motor to get the window up and ordered the new switch when I got home.

Sometimes all you need to do is disassemble the switch box, clean the contacts reconnect the switch to test, these switches for this make and model are cheap. I left my windows open when it rained and think the contacts are corrosive leading to failure. My window goes down but up after so many tries. Don't run to replace if all you have to do is clean the contacts. If the board the switches come in contact with was bad, none of the windows would work. Another note, Clean and treat your windows, not doing so just adds hardship to the motors making them go up and down. I use rainx for the exterior and rainx has a product that not only treats inside glass but provides anti fog , rainx interior

Most people loose switch connection or wiring issue if no motor sounds.

Thanks guys. You are great. 👍 Only thing is, it a Chevy compact car 🚗 in all its disposable glory. If you have a cliff ⛰ or even a hill nearby... take a brick 🧱, put it on the gas pedal slam into gear, get out of the way, and watch it go to its deserved demise. Edit: oh, and don’t forget to yank the vin off, and grind it off the engine block...

Question??? My Passenger side window will not go down.2014 Chevy Sonic LT...All other windows will work fine except the passenger side.The switch does work the window moves ever so slightly.I have only had one other issue in the last 6 years of having this car.Would i need to replace the regulator or the motor i have all ready checked the fuses. To me it looks like the window might be just getting stuck.
