HOW TO REPLACE FRONT CRANKSHAFT SEAL ON MAZDA 2.3 MAZDA CX-7 CX7, MAZDASPEED 3, MAZDASPEED 6
In this video we will explain how to remove or replace the front crankshaft seal on Mazda with 2.3 Turbo Engine. You may be leaking engine oil from the crankshaft seal and that is why you may need to replace it. We explained how to remove and replace the crankshaft seal on Mazda CX-7 but it should work on MazdaSpeed 3 and Mazda speed 6 with the 2.3 turbo disi engine since they all share the same engine.

Had to look at this because I just put a crank seal in a 09 Mazda 6, put it all back together and got a crank no start... So looked here and found my issue, thanks! I am used to a crank pully having a key way so they can't be put on any other way but right, so that messed me up a bit lol. Instead of the purple pin you used, I just used a screw driver that was tight in the holes to keep it aligned while I tightened it up.

damn..that's a lot of work..but still for the dealer to charge me $650 just to remove those parts is going to hurt me alot. especially what needed to be change is the seal.

I am about to do this job, do you need to install the plate if I am not messing with the timing and am simply removing and installing the gasket ?

You do need to key the engine timing in order to take the crankshaft pulley out, yes it is mandatory or you will mess the engine.

Hi is it possible to change main bearings with engine still in the car as I can buy one really cheap and I would do it as a project any info would be appreciated.
