Before starting my coolant pipe swap, I pulled fuses 13/14 (fuel pumps) and started the vehicle until it stalled. This will relieve the pressure from the fuel system.

Having dis-assembled that far, wouldn't it be wise to replace the starter motor? Unless the starter was replaced in the last year or two, it seems like that would be wise part to replace given how much work it takes to access it.

Hey guys so i believe I'm leaking oil by the driver side turbo/ intercooler pipe. It's a common issue do you think you might be able to do a video
@samuelvincentvella4 жыл бұрын
Excellent video guys thanks! But where was the leak in the first place?? And you already had the metal coolant pipes - so how did they fail? I thought you were replacing plastic coolant pipes??
@koro2874 жыл бұрын
Exactly! ripped off
@lalitkishore29792 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing but perhaps it's just the sleeves that are plastic, but they should be replaced with aluminium ones otherwise your engine may be destroyed. Perhaps they were just replacing the pipes because they can deteriorate too, that I don't know.
@a.s.4135 Жыл бұрын
Hi. Your instructions were great! I followed your instructions to replace the coolant pipes. While at it, I replaced the thermostat, starter (since it got soaked by the failing plastic pipes), water pump, belt and belt pulley. However, after I put things back together, the PSM light came on and the car idles rough (revs to 1200 then drops to 800 continuously). Any idea what it could be?

6 months late but if you look at the bottom on the bell housing on the transmission, the coolant will come out a tiny hole in it. Also the starter might make some noise too, the coolant gets in it.

@Umut MISIRLI just like its worn out or struggling to turn the flywheel/thrust plate, the coolant gets in it and dries up.

quick question - please - I have a 04 Cayenne S 4.5 V8 - I purchased used and have the leak problem - I bought the "aluminum repair kit" for this fix - it appears way above my skill level - I know a few people have asked - but what is the time/labor/hours a consumer can expect at a Porsche service center? Any ideas? Has anyone had this done at a service center? I'm just trying to figure out a ballpark estimate? can this be a one-day or less job? thanks for answering - really appreciate the video and any input from Cayenne Porsche owners with the year/model for this problemo.

My god what a fiddly job. Thank god I don't work as a mechanic any more. I was considering getting a Cayenne but I might get the V6 Instead. What a shit place for a starter motor. A couple of suggestions. Run a wire from the starter solenoid to a spot near the battery and tape it of. That way you can hot wire the starter if you need to. Second, please don't wear a metal watch band or rings. A friend of mine got welded onto a starter positive when changing a oil filter. Ow. Great video. Thanks. I think I will make up stainless steel pipes when I buy mine.
