And it’s even labelled “Rd. to Nowhere” on Google maps! Evidently they have anticipated it’s completion at the other end, though, as there’s a roundabout with no through road connected to it - it’s about 250 m away, with the expensive looking need for a bridge under the Charfield line from Gloucester etc.

Yate is in South Gloucestershire. Nothing to do with Gloucestershire. 👍🏻 Also, Blunsdon Hill near Swindon. The old A419 is abandonedish, as they now created a bypass.

Linemarking the road is very strange. I have built a few roads over the years and if you are not planning to open it in the near future, you leave it unmarked to deter illegal use and maintain the new asphalt which can deteriorate under thermoplastic markings.

As they hire the road out, and has been used principally for filming, I wonder if it's more for decoration than anything?

It would appear that according to Google, if you drop the little yellow man onto the roundabout at the end with westerleigh road, its not a footpath, where the rounabouts exit is, is turn style, beyond that, a sign telling visitors what you'll see.

Why has there never been a Doctor Beeching for the roads? How many roads 'pay their way'? West Sussex County Council has a policy of de-adopting roads that only serve one property. Why should they maintain private driveways?
