The passenger compartment of the 2008 remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. Peugeot showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in different positions. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection was rated as marginal for the neck of the driver and for the chest of both occupants. In the side barrier impact, protection of all critical body areas was good and the car scored full points in test. In the more severe side pole test, chest protection was rated as adequate and that of other body areas as good. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. A geometric assessment of the rear seats also indicated good whiplash protection. For this assessment, the 2008 was equipped with the optional safety pack, which includes a more advanced AEB system than is fitted as standard. In tests of its functionality at the low speeds, typical of city driving, at which many whiplash injuries occur, the system performed well.

In the frontal offset test, protection of all critical body areas was good or adequate for both dummies. However, in the side barrier impact, chest protection was rated as poor for the 10 year dummy, based on measurements of chest acceleration. The front passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. Clear information is provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag and the system was rewarded. One universal child restraint could not be properly installed in the rear outboard seats. Otherwise, all restraints types for the which the 2008 is designed could be properly installed and accommodated.

The bonnet provided predominantly good or adequate protection to the head of a struck pedestrian, with poor results recorded at the base of the windscreen and on the stiff windscreen pillars. The bumper provided good protection to pedestrians' legs and protection of the pelvis was also good at all test locations. The AEB system fitted as part of the optional safety pack is able to detect vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists, as well as other vehicles. In tests, the system performed well in its response to cyclists and adequately in its response to pedestrians.

The 2008 has a seatbelt reminder system for the front and rear seats. A lane support system helps prevent inadvertent drifting out of lane. The speed assistance system uses a camera to determine the local speed limit and this information is presented to the driver. The driver can choose to allow the system to adapt the speed limiter appropriately. The AEB system performed well in tests of its functionality against other vehicles at highway speeds.

Strange, they are pretty reliables cars, perhaps some 306 in the nineties, but in general and since allways they are impossible-to-kill cars... not like Renault one's. Especially the legendaries 205 and 504 ones. Some of them live again in africa with millions+ kms behind.

@@philv3941 306 were very reliable in the 90s. The ones to avoid is the x07 generation from the 2000s (107, 207, 307, 407, 607, 807, 1007, 4007). Electronic of that era was pretty unreliable and Peugeot built quality was not good. Lots of cheap plastic that trends to age bad now.

Saints McCastle No the safety pack consists of automatic braking etc. So that means that the safety pack only improves primary safety, so if u have a crash without the safety pack the results would be exactly the same. You gotta remember that car safety isn’t only about secondary safety!

Lindo muitos opcionais , motor bom econômico . Agora a bomba d' água elétrica foi um verdadeiro fiasco , fiquei na estrada com o motor fervendo . Só fui encontrar peça em SP. E foi + salgado que bacalhau , depois deu problema na Bomba de combustível , E acabei vendendo " a bomba " E era carro de pouco uso .

Estou no meu terceiro Peugeot e aguardando ansioso a chegada do novo 208 ou novo 2008. Não julgue a marca por um erro num processo de fabricação. Montadoras de renome como Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Volvo e outras marcas fazem recall por erros no processo de fabricação. A Peugeot tem tudo para ser líder de vendas. Comprou a Opel, divisão da Chevrolet na Europa e agora fez uma fusão com a Fiat. Olha o exemplo do recém lançado New Onix que está pegando fogo. Enfim, infelizmente processo de produção em massa é sujeito a falhas de qualidade.

Eu tenho um 2008 thp, já rodei muito com ele, inclusive já rodei por 3 países além do Brasil com ele, já fiz viagem de 15.000km e ele nunca me deixou na mão. Já tive problema na válvula de alívio da turbina e borboleta tbi, mas o carro continuava funcionando.

The 19/20 model before the revamp to the more angular new version had the automatic city braking as an optional extra. If you didn't opt in for it then it won't stop on its own. You'll know if you have it as there's a camera looking out of the windscreen in the middle, as part of the rear view mirror holder.
