Old School 1965 Chevy El Camino

Our friend Memo dropped by with his very cool old school 65 El Camino done Memo style. He wanted to keep it close to original stuff with an upgrade motor, paint and a few other things but this is simply old school cool.

I had a 65 El Camino in high school in the late 80's. That was a fun car. Had a 327 with a powerglide, and yes it had the floor shifter and the Chevelle center console, and Chevelle low back bucket seats. I did upgrade it to power steering, but it was drums all around.

I have owned a bunch of El Camino's & Ranchero's, this one is very clean & old school original, dude did a terrific job bringing it back to life, nice!

Yea no way. It sounds just like the 327s I've had. All show and no go. Barely chirp the tires.

I absolutely love these subtle restomods. I always use that mindset when I'm restoring my bikes. This thing is an amazing build though, 100/10 in my book.

Absolutely I had a 65 with a 4spd I kind of ruined it by carrying some heavy stuff . Had it till 76 it was a gear head’s delight all sorts of LDS rear ends and other stuff was available like Hurst shifter how fun was that to chirp the tires in all 4 gears I always had a hot blonde next to me and gave me a reason to put it in 4th

Gotta Agree with Bobby Bentley.. 500hp streeeetch. 327 with just dart heads. I have the same year. 350, Vortec head , flat tops, Comp 268HE cam (not crazy). No stall with 700r4, 3.73 posi. If I launch it hard like he did just smoke and hard second. I am probably 350hp possibly.. Nice car though .. Like the interior !
