There used to be a time when I got tired of seeing small block chevys in every other custom build. These days with LS's being in everything I love seeing the old school small blocks.

Damn i love this channel! All these sweet cars takes meback to high school up in San Jose with all the hot rods of my school mates and the car clubs! I'm 54 so those kids were getting cars dirt cheap and making some killer sweet cars! I my self had a 67 Chevelle Malibu I bought for $300.00 dollars and a 69 Suburban 4x4 that the school dubbed the blue goose because of the big ole goose decal I had on the rear door! Barn style doors not the fold down door! Love it!

A friend of mine had a '66 Nova of the same body style back in the late '70's that ran like a scalded dog. I had a LT-1 350, Muncie 4-speed, tall gears, with a Ford 9 inch. An absolutely beautiful little car that he bracket raced. This car reminds me so much of his......it was the best body style Nova that they ever made with it's simple, straight lines and nice interior. Boy, did this bring back memories. I love it when Shawn says, "....when I was a kid." Hell, bud, you're still a kid!

“Thanks for the Memories” At 20 Y.O. I owned a pretty low mileage, stock appearing, 66 SS, numbers matching, orig. 350 HP 327 (rebuilt and tuned at Garlit’s Speed Shop, Tampa), B/B, P&P heads, Crower, Edel. alum. intake, Holley 850 SB-DP, 400+ HP (High RPM Screamer), Muncie Rock Crusher, TD clutch, 4:56 Posi Rear, drag links, same color paint, turquoise Int. “Old School sleeper” ,1/8 mi. street / drag car. It cornered like a shipping crate and had the A arm squeaks, but 0-105 in a straight line... banging that Hurst T- handle through that Muncie was mechanically raw, a downright blast and it surprised some people. Yeah, by today’s standards it would be fairly slow, but it wasn’t back then. That’s the only car / toy I’ve ever regretted selling. Sold it for $4,500 in 1985. 🥲 It’s not even about the $$$ it would be worth now, those were just simple / fun times, without much of the drama we live with today. ✌🏻

Beautiful SS Nova! Love the lumpy cam, old school all the way. Brings back many memories of my college days when we had tons of fun meeting up and racing outside of town in the early 70s. Miss those days... A fast Street car back then was mid to low 12s in the quarter. Didn’t need some 1500 hp car to have fun.

That's MONEY! Front track is perfect where many of these with wide front tires/wheels tend to look as though the wheels are too far inward of the fender lip line, at least that's my observation. Lol I like to call these 60's colors "grandma blue, green, gold". My grandma had a gold 4dr 71.

Nice ride, only us older men know about what a real car is all about and what to do to make it more manageable and more fun to drive. Unibody construction like today's cars alot can be done to make it more enjoyable than what it was back in the day, yet the car is yesterday's car for today and someone who knows, can enjoy!

I'm from Belgium and whe have here also American muscle cars. Not so many but you see them on car meetings. I see the most American cars in oldtimer meetings. But here are American muscle cars expensive. And whe have here a lot of regulations. I really enjoy the cars and the noise they make. Keep up the good work and stay healthy.

No problem with old school gen I or II SBC's and especially not Big Blocks (God I'd kill for a W-Block 409 '63 Impala, or the infamous '63 Impala Sport Coupe with the Z11, W-Block based, 430hp/575tq, 427ci, 10.8 in the quarter running, tons of aluminum wearing package 😅👌), but there's a reason why the LS and Gen V LT platform are superior, well, many reasons, but you can easily have a 500+ HP LS/LT that gets over 20mpg, and making more power is way simpler than the old stuff unfortunately.... thankfully nowadays, you can have a 500hp+ LS aluminum block and headed engine wearing the correct old school tinwork and programmable EFI on a 4bbl(or more) old school looking intake with the correct air cleaner and you can pop the hood of your classic, and 99% of the people looking, wouldn't be able to tell it was an all aluminum LS making big power..... even if course, replicating the venerable W-Block from a quick glance (I wouldn't be able to bring myself to pull out a 409 or 427 W though, regardless of the benefits of the LS/LT platform, there's some things that need to stay lol)

I love the '66 Novas. Better looking front end than a '67. The 1966 doesn't have the black grill mesh in the headlight bezels. The grill is straight across clean like the later model Novas. On my 1966 Nova I painted the grill black and went to the dealer and bought an SS emblem that was made for a 1973 SS Nova and mounted it, looked great.
@mhammer53 жыл бұрын
I forgot to mention when I bought the SS emblem at the dealer the cost was only $2.50, so you can tell it wasn't yesterday. Also I went to the dealer and bought a then available locking gas cap chrome with the keyhole in the center of the Chevy bow tie. To lock the gas cap you pushed in to latch it, no twist. It was exactly made for the Nova because it had the slight curvature to match the quarter panel and when latched it was flush and matched the car body. I wish I could have bought a case of them. Early 1970's time frame.
