Also I believe there were good offers to get rid of the last ICE Macans so they can start producing EVs). + you should get discount when buying one. Also, me personally would not bother with depreciation cause I wouldn't sell it (unless I really needed to). EVs shall be different to ICE - e.g. no need to sell it before the maintenance issues kick in (at least in theory).

Drove one at a Porsche event at Summit Point Raceway, WV. They would not allow us to do laps around the track but did allow us to do a slalom course. Hauled ass and the brakes were smoking after hard braking when I brought it back in. She’s a heavy beast.

My friends and I who already own the Taycan were invited as VIP clients to test drive the Macan. We were all disappointed. Obviously not a bad car at all but it didn’t live up to the expectations or the hype. Definitely not as sporty, not as well built, It was the 4 - so never expected acceleration to be great. But handling was only so so. Feels a lot taller than the Taycan - which is fair, because it is. The back seemed smaller especially for anyone 6ft and taller. Turning radius was good, just doesn’t feel glued to the road like the Taycan does. I think we expected this new Macan to be AMAZING. And it’s nice of course, but maybe it’s good for the current ICE Macan owners. I’ll take a Cayenne instead. Great video, thanks!! 🙏🏾

Gts owner here for 3 years, upgrading to a Macan Electric Turbo. Test drove it for 2 days and it’s amazing. I’ll lose the sound, but got my 911 for ice… and the design and tech is superb. Drives like my 911, minus the sound…. I think Porsche nailed it for me.

I came from owning 3 Tesla's back to back since 2018. Just got back into to ICE, and LOVE my 2021 Macan GTS. I drive a TON and would save on premium fuel if I got back into a Macan EV, but the cost difference getting into a NEW Macan EV $100+k would be crazy. I'll keep my GTS for a while and enjoy that, plus the BUTTONS love all the Buttons in my 2021 GTS!

I have just placed an order for a petrol Macan GTS. I was looking for something to replace my BMW 330e touring PHEV but I find the Cayenne hybrid too big for British roads. I am not going for the Macan EV as 1) I am prepared to take a big hit in depreciation 2) battery degradation 3) having to sit around for charging and that the infrastructure is not up to speed. 4) synthetic fuel/ hydrogen may offer better alternative to Lithium Ion battery. I think and hope I have made the right choice.

Plug it in when you get home and charge your car. I’ll never understand the concept of why people don’t understand when you get home and park your car plug it in!!! That’s all. I can tell you my friends and I have the Taycan and so far so good. Knock on wood. 3, 4 year old cars and we have zero battery issues with degradation. I think Porsche did very well with that. Only time will tell but we love our Porsche Taycans!!

The frunk and boot not responding as they should is something I'd expect to see on a prototype or an older Tesla, not a brand new Porsche. Speaking of Tesla at least they can hide the subwoofer in the boot where it doesn't take away useful storage space. I'm sure it's a quality product, but it just seems like a lot of money (especially with options) for something not particularly ground breaking. If you're looking for a fast and engaging small EV SUV, get an Ioniq 5N

This is a good looking update to the Macan although it needs a rear window spoiler to balance it better and look less jump backed. I am surprised Porsche didn’t face lift the petrol variant to look the same even though the dimensions are slightly different (Mini made their petrol and electric variants look the same despite using different platforms) - I guess it is because they thought the ICE variants wouldn’t go on that much further. I see it going the other way in the next few years actually, with ICE making a comeback with e fuels or hudrogen fuel and small electric cars selling less and mainly in cities!

Already watched Harrys review on the same car :), his towing test was nice but the results where predictable. The petrol and EV versions are both built alongside in the Leipzig factory. Its better to have all options on sale. I dont like how the EV looks in the front, its missing the big bonnet and I dont like the double- stacked headlights...

Lovely vehicle. Lower maintenance cost and cheaper recharging but battery replacement packs probably cost $50,000 and that's probably the reason why depreciation is steeper than the Macan ICEV. Until batteries are proven to be engineered to last 16 years, I will stick with petrol or HEVs. We actually decided to go with a CPO '23 X3 M40i with torque vectoring. Probably $30,000 cheaper than getting the Macan S, that couldn't even be configured with PTV Plus. The 4S corrects that but alas, it's too late after I realized there are 15 to 30 (depending which expert you ask) degradation mechanisms for these current state of the art batteries.

There are lots of 10+ year old EVs going around without any issues. Recall rates are around 4% for those cars and all of them are using first generations cells. Current tech EVs can easily do 15+ years without any maintenance, and take into account that battery prices are more then likely to be less than half the price

Many pre 2016 Model S owners are worried about their batteries. Check TeslaMotorsClub. No third party in the US will insure batteries beyond 10.years. i think owners will be lucky to get 14 years out of their batteries. Depreciation tells all. My '11 Accord can likely see 25 years. Probably holding on to that and my 12 CT200h just to see how long they last.

30% dégradation the battery is judged unfitted for car usage, during the battery life it will get in the first years around 2 or 5% degradation then the degradation will be very slow for years, or even decades looking at the older EVs on the road with old tech batteries still going around Remember also that for now constructors prefer to replace the whole battery but it’s absolutely possible to just change the faulty modules or just a pack It’s the approach we would choose outside of warranty I think

Had the 4s EV version but having driven one last weekend have cancelled it and ordered the current combustion engine version to replace e my existing one. I found the EV heavy and cumbersome compared to my petrol one. Only good thing about the EV was the straightline speed but where in the UK can you realistically use that! Even prefer the interior of the current petrol as so much nicer to have some buttons. Sorry, but the EV is of for me😩

Kinda dunno what it is, but I'm actually a huge car nut, love cars, but electric cars kinda seem more like "tech" to me than cars, so I don't really care about them. Which is weird, cause I'm also a huge geek, and usually love tech, just not this kind of tech..

Range is not the issue. Charging time is the issue. Until that is resolved BEVs won’t be a better choice for most people.

For sure it is but its also super expensive and the depreciation could turn out to be massive. Normal wage people need to consider that.

How do you strip out the best selling car..to make it electric it doesn't make sense they must reconsider..aMucan is very good..that is a true Porscher for me
