For modeling the turning characteristics of a vehicle in AutoTURN, we make use of various radius types like wall-to-wall, curb-to-curb, centerline and/or inner turn radius. The Wall-to-Wall (WW) turning radius is the radius of the smallest circle inside of which a vehicle can turn. This circle is inscribed by the outermost point of the vehicle’s front overhang when the vehicle is making its tightest turn. This measurement takes into account any front overhang and bumper extensions. The Curb-to-Curb (CC) turning radius is the radius of the smallest circle inside of which the vehicle’s tire can turn. This circle is inscribed by the outside face of the outer front tire when the vehicle is making its tightest turn. The Centerline (C) turning radius is the radius of the circle inscribed by the center point (mid-point) of the front steering axle.

hello Good morning. I have a question about how to perform a reversing maneuver for a long-length own vehicle, e.g. carrying a wind turbine blade. during the reversing manoeuvre, the vehicle (tractor) immediately turns the front wheels to the max and when trying to reverse the tractor immediately breaks to the maximum angle, preventing further driving.

With this option, the vehicle is assumed to be starting the section from a complete stop. This allows the steering wheels to be turned while the vehicle is stopped.
