Thank You. Brings back memories as I learnt to drive in my parents 1977 mk1 Cressida and passed my test in it. But living beside the sea on the west coast of Scotland it just rusted away.

Ah, my old Cressida. I bought it for £500 from a lovely old local chap - the first owner. I was the first to 'ruin' it with wheels (Lotus Eclat initially, and then XXR rims imported from the US) and suspension mods. The bolt-on Boso exhaust was made by Burnham Autos for me too....I'm glad that was still with the car at the time of the video....same for some of the stickers too - like the Hot Old's Association on the rear - I travelled all the way to Japan to earn that one!

Does anyone know how popular or common Cressida's (the early model like in the video) were in the UK back in the late 70s and 80s. Just wondering as my dad's mate owned a 78 or 79 Cressida which was the estate model throughout the 80s and into the late 90s. I can't imagine even in the 80s these cars being a common sight on British roads. According to "how many left", as of 2019, there are only 8 Cressida's registered in the UK.
