+Paul Same here with my '05 4x4 Crew Cab. The roads here in Rhode Island are terrible, so I am considering, even though I have 93k miles. Since it has MacPherson struts, the coil makes it seem like the strut/shock is still OK. I would do these tests again on your truck and see if there is looseness (like on a waterbed). I would go from there based on road conditions and driving style/

if your ride feels overly wobbly and on higher speeds feels unsafe to drive your struts are probably worn.. if they start making noise and bottoming out you need to change em asap.. i wouldn't go to much on the pushing the car down and checking for bounce measure, it's not that accurate in my experience..

Can anyone help me? I've got a Toyota 2003 RAV4. My braking distance seems to be decreased, my car at high speeds has what seems like a chirping noise in the front passenger and when I take a slow right turn it CREAKS. My wheel bearings were worn and I already had those replaced. It wasn't what was making the creak noise. I just bought this used car and have already spent $1,500 in repairs - all three O2 sensors, air filter, the belt, oil change (also no I don't have a warranty I got it from a family car lot after hurricane Harvey bc my car got flooded) I took it to my mechanic and he didn't hear the noise.... it doesn't do it all the time but more so after it runs a bit I guess?
@itspapaj47326 жыл бұрын
Could be many things. For starters, checking your ball joints/control arms. If neither of those solve your issue, you could have a strut with either a bad mount or a bad cylinder. From personal experience, sometimes when the plate/mount where the metal spring sits goes bad, it usually causes squeaking noises/creaking noises.

Wondering if anyone can help me figure this out. I own a 99' mustang, whenever I am driving at a lower speed 30 or below my car will make a squeak noise ? It's not a whining noise whenever I drive straight or if I turn right. Also if my car is parked and I "do I bounce test" the front right of my car will make Squeak? noise. I'm guessing it's my suspension? I'm thinking about taking it in to auto zone or where I got my tires replaced about a year ago. It's super embarrassing to drive around with a squeaky car 😅😂
