Very nice vlog Steve with some superb capture mate .....i love this stretch of the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal ....the shot looking back down the canal to the boat is defo a 200mm shot ...i have shot this loads of times and at 200mm the tree gives a natural arch over the canal with the boat in it .....and those Hornets/Wasps are fierce looking buggers close up i did dash in and grabbed a shot and ran like mad .....all the best mate

Hi Will and many thanks, we're so lucky having so many canals near us, I think they're magical and just waiting for mist and fog and I'll be down there a lot more 👍

lovely autumn colours mate, and the photo of Betsy looking out from the towpath is a cracker. but I enjoyed all the images - can't really pick a favourite. I'd leave them wasps well alone - or you will end up in the canal!! reminded me it's the time of year when I usually shoot the Neath valley canal. it's no longer navigable so is all shallow and silted up, but the autumn colours are great there especially on a cold morning with mist rising off the water :-)

Hiya Nick many thanks, yea i looked them up and they are wood wasps, they were a good 2 inches long so wasn't gonna disturb them. I was hoping for mist along here, there's something special about misty canals I think, bring on the mist and fog I say

Loving the canal shots Steve. Particularly love the one with Betsy admiring the gorgeous scenery. The shot with the barge emerging through the lock is stunning. So much of interest in one shot. Glad you didn’t fall in or get stung, was worried about the camera though 😊

Having lived in Corfu for the past 20 years I forgot how beautiful the colours are in autumn in the UK. There are over 3 million olive trees on the Island and 100s of thousands of cypress trees which are both evergreen, there is the odd deciduous tree but very few in the area where I live so you never see the leaf drops as in the UK. Once again mate some lovely images ...thanks.

Beautiful images Steve, impossible to pick a favorite. Is that a new or different collar on Betsy?

Hi Enrique many thanks, yes Its a tracker which links to my phone, if she goes missing again I should be able to find her easier 👍

Superb photos once again Steve. Can I ask, do you attach a CPL to enhance your colours in these photos? By the way, I would have walked straight past the wood wasps, and not taken a photo

Hi Mike thank you, yes I do use a polariser just to remove some high lights and boost saturation, it's one filter I just can't do without 👍
