What a roller coaster my first couple days in Scotland were. Great light led to "meh" photos, bad light led to my favorite photos, and I was wrong about pretty much every assumption I made in the video. Regardless it was the first couple days of a great trip.

Wow, what light. Been thinking of finding and concentrating on small subjects in foreground, rocks, puddles, flowers and making them the predominate subject with mountains, streams, forests etc in the background using very wide angle lenses. Keep-up-the-great-work Nick, and Thank You for your inspiration.

And I loved the talking your way through the compositional thought process. Really thinking about getting me a pair of those socks. Looking forward to the next video. I love watching your videos. You are so natural and authentic on camera. i feel like you've invited me along on your journey to explore along with you. I loved your second tree shot with the primary tree you liked in the background left of another tree that was in the foreground right of the frame--Thomas Heaton would have been proud of you...or jealous!!

10:40 - I am so glad you said you're a bit of a light dependent photographer! I live in the North of Scotland and get very down because so many days are like these - completely grey - and so many of your photos are so colourful. Even if I get up for dawn, it's rare that I'm lucky enough to get many colourful pictures. It's reassuring to know you also have trouble in these conditions! Thank you.

Nice Nick and good to see some familiar places on one of your videos. I lived on the Isle of Mull in my van for 5 month last year, a lot of it near or in Aros Park where the waterfall was I believe. If you walk up the embankment away from the path you get some proper gnarly, almost grotto like trees. If you follow the falls further down as well you get a really nice area of boulders and falls, it's where I got probably my best shot on Mull. Anyway, good to see you in my homeland of Scotland, I hope it's all you wanted it to be.

Scotland is super difficult to photograph. One of my favorite spots in the world and one I go back to over and over again. It's a great place to play with being a very flexible photographer, since you have to jump between black and white, long exposure, short exposure, rain, nature, wildlife, etc. constantly. I also find that getting the balance right with the rocks, heather, and their reflective characteristics paired with the Scottish skies makes it super challenging. Nice shots and looks like you're enjoying, despite the rain =)

You're almost guaranteed to get flat grey skies in Scotland for weeks on end, it's a country of beautiful scenery and crap weather, although, having said that, last few weeks have been great with some fantastic clear skies, warm temps and beautiful sunsets & I hope you were around to experience some of it. Anyway, lovely video and some beautiful images, looking forward to the next one Nick.

Love your work on Mull, Nick! I was on Mull a few years ago at the same time (May) and did well at that same twisty trees area and also the bluebells which I consider particularly Scottish. I also remember that waterfall and didn’t do that well there either. There are some old sunken fishing boat wrecks I recall having fun with. Can’t wait to see the next installment! Thought all you guys would be shooting together though. Where was that first peak image made? That did look tricky to move about on those wet rocks but as always you managed to come away with some beautiful images.
