I enjoy the exploration of your culture, the food you make, etc. I strongly believe the sooner we begin practicing our heritage, the easier it will be to retain those cultures in the next generations. I am much older than you, and am only now more strongly seeking the culture of the people I come from, on my mother’s side and my father’s. I want to ensure these are passed on to my son. Keep pursuing and discovering more of your family’s traditions. It will mean so much later, as you already know. I can no longer ask my parents for reminders and insights, as they have now passed (my mother sixteen years ago and my father last year), so continue to engage and pursue this.
