My son was 2.5 when we had our daughter and we had them share a room when she turned 5 months. We would put our daughter down first, then creep in with our son after our daughter was already asleep for 30 min - 1 hour. It was hard at first and we had a whole month of different struggles (our son waking her up, her crying waking him up, etc.) but we just tried to stay consistent and our kids are now 3.5/10 months it's been working out, for now. :) I think they got used to each other's sounds. The only downside has been that now, if one decides to wake up at 5:30am, the other most likely will too.

Honestly the only tip is to persevere! It gets less exciting for them and gets better! I have 3 under 6 sharing a room, with one more that will be joining them in the next 6 months or so. Whenever a new sibling moves into the room it’s so fun and sleep isn’t great at first but they get used to it. Bedtime all together works best for us, and just let them play for awhile after you put them down and they’ll burn off the last of their energy.

We had an almost 3 year old and a 1.5 year old start sharing… in the beginning the older child would run out of the room crying every time the lil guy called out to us. I think it’s because she felt responsible and that she needed to take care of him. Now they’ve gotten used to it and she will just roll over and sleep even if he’s still singing to himself or whatever. It just takes some getting used to for both of them.

We moved them in together a few months ago and it's been remarkably smooth. They are 2 and 11 months now. Not sure if I have any tips though.

Looks like its going to be such a cute 1st birthday ❤ Honestly, my two under two never ended up room sharing like our plan 😂 They were just two opposites. Luckily, we ended up making it work until they had their own rooms. They are now 11 and 10. Good Luck!

hi! just wanted to say im in the same boat as you! my daughter is 3 and my son is turning 1 in a few weeks. the plan was to have them share a room when he turned 6 months but he wakes up soooo early and occasionally in the middle of the night so we have been holding off. I think we will just know when they are ready :) but ive heard from friends that after a few weeks, the two of them become so used to it that they sleep through the other kid's wake ups. also I am a fellow pastors wife and love watching your videos! praying blessings over your family!

I don’t have any advice but I understand the sleep situation. 😅 I have 2 under two and I’ve been wanting them to share a room also. Ha it hasn’t happened though. My baby just turned one so hopefully we both figure out a way for it to work before spring

On some of your recent videos I’ve noticed you using some sort of balm to help smooth out your hair. I would love to know what that is! Looks like it would work great for all of the postpartum hair growth I’ve got going on😂

I have 3 under 3 and they all room share, we just moved out 9 month old into the room .. it took a couple of days for them to get used to it but now they all sleep through the night with no problems if one of them wakes up crying

This pumpkin patch place is adorable. Yes, it goes by very fast. My oldest is 16 and my youngest is 4 months and it makes me go, "WOW! When did these older children of mine grow so much. . . and this little one will be 10 or 16 before I know it too. . .making my oldest 26 or 32 when that happens. . ouch haha). I still hold all my babies and my older children love to hold me back still. Your birthday party idea is cute. I have never given my kids a first birthday party, since they won't remember it, but they are still fun to see or attend! Your question about 2 under 2 sharing a room. I have done so! My oldest two are 22 months apart. When our 2nd was 6 months old, we started to put them both in one room together and it took time for them to get used to it. We had a harder time getting our oldest to sleep than the younger to adjust. The oldest did not like us leaving the room and felt it was a fun time and we struggled a lot with him trying to get to sleep. Our two in one room worked well though. They still share a room at 16 and nearly 15 years old. Now they are talking about sharing their first apartment haha. Everything just needs patience involved with it. The more you get them adjusted to a routine, the more they will be fine. We'd have them clean up their toys, get them dressed, read to them, and kiss and tuck them into bed. It was always in the same time frame each night, so they eventually were great with that. Also, giving our oldest a toddler bed helped him sleep better and initially go to sleep. He felt like a big boy while his baby brother was sleeping in the crib. He felt like a protector. It was good. Then he could wake up in the morning and start playing with his toys quietly too. We put them down for nap time at the same time every day too. They would sometimes nap for 4 hours straight. It was wild. However you do it, you'll get through it and I am cheering you on.

Aw thank you so much for sharing all of this! 🤍 so much great advice. I figure it will probably take a couple weeks of them getting used to each other and I’m sure it would be great after that. I just haven’t had the mental fortitude to commit to that stretch of sleepless nights haha but I gotta do it. 😂

Love your videos, but when you were unboxing the brown and grey balloons it reminded me of an episode in the office where the boys were in charge of throwing kellys a birthday party and they chose those colors of balloons and held the most "boring birthday" lol
