Relax and enjoy a scenic drive down the Connecticut River Scenic Byway in Vermont. Known for summer recreation, famous ski slopes, Ben & Jerry's and mostly the leaves changing colors in Fall, Vermont comes to life in Autumn as the rolling green hills and field change color before winter comes. This drive runs up Route 5 from Brattleboro, VT to Windsor, VT, along the Connecticut River dividing Vermont from New Hampshire. Much of the right view is looking across the river into NH. The exquisite foliage colors light up the road, the mountains, and the fields and showcases why Vermont is THE state to experience Autumn.
The foliage of the Green Mountains in Vermont draws leaf peepers from around New England, the northeast, and the United States. The rolling green hills, famous maple syrup stands, and stunning rivers demonstrate the beauty and simplicity of Vermont making it a perfect fall destination for tourists, travelers, and everyone in between.

As a dude from TX, it’s kinda sad that we won’t get to visit beautiful places like these in New England for quite a while as I need to move to India. Hopefully, we’ll have time to visit the Berkshires on our NYC trip

Wow! I attended Dartmouth College in 1954-58, driving up and down Route 5 between Connecticut and Hanover, New Hampshire. Route 91 had not been built yet, so Route 5 was the only choice. Even though I have visited Dartmouth many times since, I have not been on this stretch of Route 5 for 64 years! As I watch this, every once in a while my mind tingles when I see a scene I remember, as if I am reigniting long-dormant neurons. To the extent you picked a perfect day, this has been an exhilarating experience. Memory Highway! I will be back!

That is awesome!!! I love that this brought you back down memory lane! So many times over the years I did stretches of rt 5 but would go to I-91 before long to make time. It was such an amazing ride to just enjoy route 5 with no time restraints (except daylight for more video!)

Yes, I am back. And I see the store in Putney, at 6:49, where my wife and I bought a small wooden rocking chair for our young son, made out of the bottom of a wooden barrel. Memory lane, indeed!

I keep looking for road signs. Are you on Route 30 or Route 5? I was going to recommend Route 30 from Manchester through Dorset, but Route 30 from Brattleboro through Townsend and Jamaica would be nice too.

This one was rt 5 from Brattleboro to Windsor. However, there I have a few from that day I'm still working on and the ride to Manchester via 30 might be coming up soon

The leaf color on this trip is definitely sub-optimal for the area; I've driven Route 5 north from Brattleboro to White River Junction or Norwich many times in the fall foliage season from the 1980s to the late 2000 aughts, but not in recent years. The brilliant, vibrant reds are barely there any more. Global warming is the culprit, no doubt. It's still a lovely video nonetheless.

Glad you enjoyed it! I honestly was hoping for a little more pop when I went up for that drive last year. I think the rain helped this year at least in central mass. I can't remember the last time we had such vibrant color for so long

Love the video but with one exception. The vehicle is going to fast. Can't really enjoy the roads it when the vehicle is fast.
